Game over really. Needs a monumental stand from someone in the middle order.

            Skittles.

England perhaps a tad complacent going into this one

BBC Test Match Special's Michael Vaughan

"Someone else has now tweeted me suggesting Kevin Pietersen needs to go back to county cricket to find some form. I don't think they have many games in January..."

The problem with Pietersen (and the England Middle Order) is that he is a fantastic player if you need someone to help you win a game, but digging in to avoid defeat is not really his game, nor Bell's, nor Morgans...

Trott's still in tho... So anything is possible.

                  In England's six previous Tests, Pietersen's scores were 2, 72, 85, 202 not out, 1, 29, 63, 63 and 175. That's 692 runs at an average of 86.50.

The stick Pietersen gets is ridiculous. He has been a phenomenal batsman for England, is easily the best batsman to watch in the team, yet gets all manner of stick from the support. He seems an easy target if the batsmen are struggling.

If he scores 97, he gets grief for not getting a 100, if he gets 130 odd, he gets grief for not getting a 200. His averages are good, and he batted through a loss of form, reinventing himself.

I like him But he seems to get grief win or lose.

He was great last year. His series with India was a real return to form. I think he gets the stick for what he does off the pitch though. He does act like a bit of a PL footballer at times. People want there cricketers to be cricketers. Flintoff had similar backlash late in his career.
                      *Except Michael, who died.

The, 'he's a bit of a knob' factor does seem to have hampered his relationship with the fans somewhat.
