I remember the "blackwash" in the 80s

This is absolutely **** from England. We're not as good as we hoped/thought we were, truly great teams don't get hammered like this in their pomp.

Although having said that this entire series has been a bit of a joke IMO. Crowds of three blokes and a dog definitely lessens the intensity and it hasn't felt like a proper Test match. No excuses though cos it's the same for Pakistan.

You are right, it has been a joke atmosphere but like you say it is the same for both teams.

There is a real issue with the English batsmen in sub-continental conditions. This has never really been addressed and until this England team dominates and wins a series in Sri Lanka, Pakistan or India, they will never be accepted as one of the truly great sides.

Pakistan's challenge was to restore some pride and hope to a nation, and they have delivered in pretty spectacular style all things considered. I hope they can now kick on and improve further.
