Stupid decision if you ask me. Mercedes have not shown anything to make me think they will challenge for the championship any time soon. They are the best of the rest but as a long way behind Ferrari, redbull and Mclaren.

They weren't woeful when Schumacher joined, they were building but the McLaren was miles ahead of everyone with the double brake thing.
Its interesting all this - I noticed di Resta posted a meme about Lewis driving for the money. He's taken it down now, but you have to wonder if this is all related to di Resta sacking Lewis's dad.
It'll be interesting next season. Lewis is going to be miles away from the title, but they must have sold it to him that he'll be the new Schumacher for Ross Brawn, the foundation upon which the whole Mercedes challenge is built. I'm not sure if he's a true team leader in the Alonso / Senna sense, in that a lot of his development has been managed by McLaren for him.
Senna and Alonso galvanised teams behind them, as did Scumacher to a degree, but Hamilton has been spoon-fed his whole career. Growing up time now.Comment
