Sweary competition going on on the podium interviews

"You guys keep giving me **** because I don't smile enough" Kimi

"We had a chance to **** it up and we didn't" Vettel

What a race though. If Vettel wins the championship this year, that was his championship drive. Everyone has moaned that he hasn't been able to pass or come from behind - well he did it today. He's still learning, ffs. Awesome.

Alonso makes up 4 places, attacks right at the end and is still upstaged after a magnificent drive. He was flawless today.

Kimi staying out of trouble and making it pay off. He could have come together with Hamilton early on, he was fantastic. The restarts were brilliant, pulling out the pace when he needed to. As good a podium as you're ever likely to see.

Hamilton say Vettel must be the luckiest driver in F1!

Whoever runs the Ferrari twitter account thinks likewise, they tweeted during the race "someone has been very lucky with the safety car today"

There was a lot of good fortune in that race for Vettel, but he still had to put himself in contention to make the best of circumstance. Look at Webber, same car, ends up being passed by his team mate and then punted off the track. Sometimes you make your own luck.

He can't win Vettel, some people say he needs to produce a drive when he's up against it from the back of the grid, then he does it and there's a lot of sniffy "he was lucky" type of commentary.

Whitmarsh and button joining in too.
Yes luck played a part but he got none of it yesterday so you can't fault him. Great drive.

Utter joke from McLaren it really is, time and again they end up failing their drivers with the car.

Great win for Kimi and fair play to Vettel, lucky in my opinion but you've still got to make the most of any luck you do get and he certainly did that today.

Yeah Lewis would been a bit less ready to accommodate if he was on a title charge and didn't know he was off next year.

McLaren are shambles and have been for years and years. The Whitmarsh years have been gaffe after gaffe - the 2008 title run was a joke when you consider their car was the best in the field and Hamilton was up against Massa. Before that, 2007 was a embarrassment of crap spying and throwing the title away with bickering. They fought with Montoya before that, sacking him mid season, they couldn't motivate Raikkonen - even the Hakkinen / Coulthard era was a mess, remember the Dennis "brain fade" comments and the lack of competition for Ferrari?

Complete shambles of a team. Good thing Lewis is leaving for a more competitive car and well run team. Oh.

Mercedes I think will get it right, how long it takes is another matter.

Pisses me off with Mclaren as they're my local team but it just seems to be so badly run its unreal. I think they'll struggle with next years line up to be honest Button isn't fast enough unless the car is perfectly set up for him and Perez is a bit of a wild card tbh.

Perez is hugely distracted since he got the move and looks every bit the erratic rookie now. He might end up a complete disaster with the weight of expectation.

It does seem that way, I fully expect a bog average season from McLaren next season I really do.

dunno bout that. button has suffered this past 2 seasons due to mclaren spending more time trying to perfect hamiltons car. the fact button can race any setup to a points finish means they give him less time. last season hamiltons car got 5 more upgrades throughout the year than button and a couple of buttons upgrades were "second hand" from hamiltons. if they concentrate more on button next year he can really push on. no one protects tyres like button but when he wants to turn it on hes as fast as anyone. with perez next year they can have a ferrari line up - main driver and a happy to play second fiddle driver.

the weak link in mclaren these past few years has been hamilton - he;s too inconsistant and rash and big headed. mercedes will suit him down to the ground as he can be the main man as rosberg isnt good enough to be "the man"

Disagree massively with that, Button is a good driver but unless the car is perfect he can't do it Hamilton gets far, far more out of a car that is perhaps not the best than Button has ever done.

Best two drivers out there are Alonso and Hamilton with Vettel and Kimi closely following

each to their own i guess.

for me, alonso and kimi are miles ahead of other drivers in terms of pure quality. vettel is more about the car he's got whereas the other 2 are up in the top 3 drivers points obtained with far inferior cars.

                          hamilton for me . . . . . . top 6 maybe behind button and webber

Behind Webber who has been in the best car and hardly won?

I like Webber but to say vettel is all about the car then say Webber is better than Hamilton, wow

Rev Brown, have to say you have made a series of completely ludicrous statements there.

Looking ominous but really hope Alonso can keep the fight going to Brazil.

A wet race there and the title would be really up for grabs
