I remember the Tyson/Berbick and Jackson/Graham KOs vividly. Found them awe-inspiring at the time.

Yep, the Graham one was devastating. Quite sad in retrospect but funny as **** at the time.

I missed the Herol Graham one, most of his brilliance was anecdotal for me. I remember when he turned up to be a pundit on a Benn fight and he said he'd fight Benn and Eubank on the same night and beat them both.

The Tyson / Berbick one was huge though, even being a little kid, you could see something enormous was happening with Tyson. There was needle between them as well, wasn't there? Something to do with Tyson insisting on wearing black shorts, even though they were Berbick's chosen colour. Berbick felt he should respect the championship and change. He didn't and walloped him.

Naseem was fun even if he was all hype, wasn't he?

My favourite British fighter of all time. Pure entertainment and he has influenced so much of what boxing has become today. Legend.

He was amazing at the time. As the article says his legacy has been tainted - it was such a sorry non-end to his career - but he was so exciting at the time. I remember when he went to the States and beat Kevin Kelley. That was some fight.

No way, totally disagree. He was a fantastic boxer in his time.
His loss to Barrera certainly tarnished him, if you look at the scorecards though the fight wasn't a 12-0 to Barrera though, two of the judges had Barera win by 3 rounds only (yes i know the judging can be dodgy )
Also think by then he'd made his money and lost the appetite.
In his day he was a fantastic attacking boxer who was great fun to watch, one of my favourites.
                      We come not to play.

He was hopeless against Barrera but prior to that fight he was great to watch and was certainly a top class fighter

Some would say he gained his appetite as he retired

I sparred for 3 rounds at the Thomas A Becket with Herol in 1983 I was 21 dumb and full of cum...I had been doing some pit fighting and fancied myself..

I didn't manage to land a decent shot on him in 3 rounds and everytime I missed he slapped me with an open palm laughing.. It was good fun but what an amazing mover, very clever....lovely chap..
