What I find interesting is in the first Mayweather v Maidana fight Dave Moretti and Burt Clements were two of the judges. Moretti scored it 116-112 in favour of Mayweather. Clements scored it 117-111 also in favour of Floyd. In the rematch only Moretti was used and this time he scored it 116-111. This tells me that two of the judges for the May 2nd fight favour punches landed i.e accuracy as opposed to aggression and activity.

Glenn Feldman is a pretty solid judge and tends to score in an allround fashion. He is a good man to have on the cards when a fight is a close one as he has a good eye for detail.

Dave Moretti is another solid judge and one with a clean reputation. He is a very experienced judge and one that rewards both the accurate fighter and the pressure fighter when they deserve it.

Burt Clements is an accuracy man alright imo and his scoring of fights tends to reflect that.


Kenny Bayless getting the ref gig is no real surprise. He is a quality ref and is fast becoming the go to ref for title fights in Vegas.


Have to say I think it is a pretty good line up, and one that I think will see no real complaints from either camp.

My local has got a license to show it, it's ticketed, max 50 people, landlord has virtually hand picked the 50 people allowed in...doors locked, free food etc

The HBO promo for Mayweather/Pacqiuao is miles better than the Showtime one. A great watch. Can't wait for this.
