He looks in ****ing amazing shape. But I can't think of many top heavyweights that were in that shape? They're normally not so cut or so bulky. Will he lose speed?

Your knowledge of boxing far exceeds mine. Am I right?

Perceived wisdom is that excess muscle will slow you down. Vast majority of boxers are in very good shape but very few look like body builders. Joshua is veering into that territory.

Apparently his biceps measure the same as Arnies did in the 70s.

Yep the body builder style heavies rarely do as well as the more traditionally built guys.

They don't have the speed and quite often simply do not have the power that their build makes it look like they should have.

Joshua has been piling on the muscle for some time now and as I said a long time ago in this thread he is reminding me more and more of Bruce Seldon in how he moves in the ring.

Seldon piled on the muscle during his career and became quite clunky in his movement. Pre heavy muscle Seldon was actually a decent enough heavyweight (not world class or even close but pretty decent nonetheless) and I can see shades of his style in how Joshua moves in the ring and especially in the way that Joshua lets punches go.

Big difference in size between Joshua and Seldon, but the similarities in their movement and punching styles is eyecatching at times.

For my money the best example of a perfectly built "big" heavyweight from the past 20 to 25 years would have to be Lennox Lewis.

I remember similar being said about Bruno when he was bulked up - it might have been osmosis, but it definitely looked to me like he had a tightness in his movement.

Tyson Fury has been summoned by the British Boxing Board of Control to explain his recent comments about homosexuality.

The world heavyweight champion, who has expressed controversial views on women, homosexuality and abortion, has been asked to attend a meeting in the new year.

Just coming here to ask about this fight. Is White a true danger to Joshua? he has a mean set of guns on him too tbf.

Not sure about the explosive power of them though, is he a fast athletic heavy weight style like Joshua, or a lumberer ? he looks a lot bulkier around the midriff, whereas Joshua's weight is more evenly distributed.

I'll pleasantly surprised if the fight goes beyond three rounds and Joshua doesn't win by T/KO

Then again I fully expected Wlad to KO Fury a few weeks back so what do I know.

Jermaine Taylor facing up to 54 years inside. Seems he's got a few issues to say the least!

Theres got to be a link between the brain injury he had and whats happened to him. He seemed a top fella in his prime years, a model pro, always spoke well, was too passive in fights if anything, like he was scared to hurt people! Now he's become a mumbling lunatic who's got himself in a lot of pickles.

If he somehow gets himself out of this mess he shouldnt be allowed near a ring again.

Rewatched Taylor vs Froch last night. He came within a baw hair of beating Froch in that fight. Forgot just how good it was. He's also the man who ended Hopkins run as Middleweight boss.

Hope Joshua wins either way. One thing i did notice today, and it was to me at the time a bit of a lol moment, it was Haye and Joshua stood next to each other for interview after the weigh in, could not believe how much bigger Joshua was, apart from the obvious height difference; it was around the shoulders and chest area that stood out the most, just such a much bigger man.

That Donaire fight last night was ****ing epic. Holy ****, love that guy!

Totally forgot that fight was on. Have not watched him fight since he was stopped by Walters. He has been getting a fair bit of praise from the boxing press for his performances since that stoppage loss so had meant to catch last night's bout.

Good fighter to watch, and would like to see him in with Rigondeaux again to see if he could give the uber talented Rigondeaux a closer fight second time around.
