Granted that means an opponent may get hurt, but the point of boxing is most certainly not to hurt the opponent.
Surely KOs make a mockery of this argument?

Not in the slightest. What CJ said was that the point of boxing was to hurt the opponent. That is not the case at all. The point of the sport is exactly what I stated. A KO is a form of scoring, and although it can come with a degree of risk, it is done through following the rules of the sport.

Now if you want to argue that injuries can come about through blows to the head and/or KOs then I would agree that is a very real possibility, but the point of boxing is not to hurt the opponent and anyone who thinks that boxing is simply about hurting someone is very much mistaken.

I know very little about him apart from he's a southpaw with a decent overhand left.

Sounds like the plan is to take Joshua into the later rounds as they think all the muscle he has will mean his stamina is not great.
Cheers Chazza. Your response meant I got an answer out of Jaco which we all know is what I was really looking for. Not that you don't know your boxing, like.

Predictions for Joshua vs. Martin? I'm going with Joshua to win in round 8.

Nah, he'll be a belt holder. Nothing more.

Fury is the man in the division despite what Sky and Matchroom say after tonights proceedings.

A belt holder is a world champion, simple as that. Is there too many versions, of course but it is what it is. Belittling it is daft

                            DQ coming in this one.

This Hunter lad seems to have a screw loose been DQ'd twice before.

                              Not belittling it at all.

If he wins tonight he's a belt holder. Not a World Champion.

Of course he's a world champion, he's the IBF world champion.
