He was poor alright. Thought it was stopped too soon. Washington had been shaken but looked like he might have survived the round had it been let go.

Bit of a kerfuffle after the fight as well it seems as police were called in after a couple of fights between Wilder and his entourage and Breazeale and his group at the arena, then later in a hotel lobby and out in the street.

Wilder's brother is meant to have gotten into a fight with Breazeale, and allegedly then Wilder arrived mob handed at the hotel and it kicked off further from there.

Did any of you watch the Breazeale fight from the undercard? It was nuts - wild punching and knock downs all over the place. It swung from fighter to fighter depending on the round, literally could have gone either way. Neither looked particularly disciplined, but it was a proper laugh - a tear up!

Wilder looked like he was biding his time. I'm unimpressed with him, he's far too wild.

                Haye is 1/7 on Saturday.

That's all you need to know about this joke of a fight.

Watch Bellend now go and survive until the third, you jinx.

I think Bellend will survive past 5 or 6.

With all the talk about the joke fight at the weekend, I think the high quality bout is getting ignored a tad.

                            Thurman vs Garcia.

Could be a corker of a fight and, like Ward/Kovalev (which we should see again in the summer), it is a true 50/50 clash between two high level boxers.

It is similar-ish to Ward/Kovalev in terms of respective skillsets too. A very heavy hitter, who is a clever fighter when he needs to be, against a boxer who is a very well versed all rounder (and who like Ward is good to the body)

Agreed. I have a sneaky feeling Garcia will win points

Yeah have the same feeling. Thurman I think can be got at on the inside, and Garcia likes to work that left hook of his to the body.

Don't think Garcia will be awed by Thurman's power either. Garcia is very good at weathering a big puncher's shots, and I think his fight against Matthysse some years back shows what he is capable of when against a good fighter that has genuine power.

Would be very interested in seeing the winner of this fight in against the excellent Terence Crawford late this year or early next year, if Crawford does decide to move up to welterweight as he has said in the past.

Speaking of Matthysse, his comeback fight is on in May. Always liked him as a fighter. Just missing that little bit to be a top of the pile guy, but still good enough to worry anyone in the division. Think the guy's biggest flaw is that he can be too honest a fighter and likes to try and take on the other guy at the other guy's game a bit too much at times, rather than just imposing himself.

He will brawl with brawlers, slug it out with power punchers (and he is one himself), and he boxes with the more technical guys.

Like watching him in the ring though, and hope he has a few more good nights ahead of him.
