I loved that show - that weight division was the most exciting in the world at the time. Benn, Eubank, Watson.. it was a proper golden age. Its great looking back on something wistfully that you really did appreciate at the time. Excellent boxers, brilliant entertainment - and all of them able to convey articulately.

British boxing ruled then. The promoters of the day would love to have that level of talent available to them now. Thing is, de Gale and Groves would be destroyed by even Richie Woodhall, let alone Eubank. Chris was ****ing awesome.

Even the US guys Benn went over and beat, Barkley et al. Hard as ****. What a great era that was.

Found it amazing that Eubank said he had no interest in testing himself against the top American guys. Just happy with being "one of the best" and not prepared to risk a serious beating.

Bayern will thump them IMO. Won't go to extra time surely.

Dortmund got a decent record against Bayern though, the win against Malaga might mean their name is on it.

It'll be a close game, but I don't really care about it. I'm way more into the Froch fight than the Champions League.

Fancy Froch on points in a ****ing war. Froch fights very rarely fail to deliver.

Don't think I can remember a **** Froch fight. The Ward fight was disappointing I guess.

Yeah, it was a bit sterile, but that was because he was fighting someone a level above who didn't need to be drawn into a typical Froch fight.

Dirrell & Taylor (even though they lost) set the template for beating Froch. Box and move. That style gives Froch fits. Taylor was beating Froch quite handily till he ran out of gas in the 12th round of their fight using the same tactics. Dirrell would probably have gotten the decision had the fight been in the States.

The rumour is that Kessler has came in at 166 in order to enable him to stick to a box and move strategy. How much of that is bull****? No idea but Kessler isn't getting any younger and generally when a boxer who's struggled to get down to weight previously comes in a couple of pounds under they've seriously misjudged their training camp.
