So Mayweather doesn't really rate our Amir then

Mayweather picks his opponents anyway. He has it right in terms of picking them at the right time. Pacman in his prime would have given Floyd a real run imo.

David Price to train with Mike Tyson's ex-coach Tommy Brooks

Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price has named Mike Tyson's ex-trainer Tommy Brooks as his new coach.
Price, 30, had a brief spell with London-based Adam Booth but will now train in Liverpool, with American Brooks flying in for coaching sessions.
Their first fight working together will be the rearranged clash against Evgeny Orlov on 25 January in Stuttgart.
Brooks has trained several world heavyweight champions, including Tyson.

He has also coached Evander Holyfield, as well as brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko.
Price had been due to fight Russia's Orlov in Germany on 14 December but was forced to pull out because of a virus.
It will be the Liverpudlian's return to the ring after two defeats against American Tony Thompson earlier this year.
"I have been waiting for the phone to ring to work with a fighter who can make it to the top," said Brooks.
"The heavyweight division is becoming very exciting again with a fresh young crop of talent coming through and Britain has some of the best prospects, but David has all the attributes needed to dominate the division."
Price left long-time trainer Franny Smith in August following the second defeat by Thompson before joining up with Booth, who also coaches former world champion David Haye, in October.

Amir Khan is a leading contender for Floyd Mayweather's next fight, head of Showtime confirms

Exclusive: Showtime Executive Vice President Stephen Espinoza reveals Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana are leading candidates to fight Floyd Mayweather on May 3

            5:27PM GMT 29 Dec 2013

Amir Khan is a “leading contender” to challenge Floyd Mayweather Jnr on May 3, but the decision on the opponent is still “wide open”, the head of Showtime Sports revealed on Sunday.

Mayweather will meet his televisual paymasters Showtime over the next week to narrow down the contenders. Stephen Espinoza, Showtime Executive Vice President, confirmed on Sunday that the Argentine Marcos Maidana, and Khan, are “under consideration”. But it is understood they may not be the only two in a group of fighters that Mayweather is considering.

“Khan is definitely one of the leading contenders for the fight,” Espinoza told The Telegraph. “I know Amir wants the fight. Floyd hasn’t made a decision. I expect an announcement by mid-January or the end of January.

“It is still wide open. Floyd has not made a decision yet about who he is going to fight on May 3. Obviously, Marcos Maidana is making a late case and a strong argument for the fight, but Amir is definitely there in the conversation.”

As for Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao, Espinoza said there were clear hurdles to overcome, to make a reality the fight which boxing fans around the world have wanted for almost four years. “I know Floyd is not the issue,” he said. “Floyd wants the fight. Floyd will fight Manny Pacquiao anywhere, any time. Unfortunately, there is a promotional conflict which are the issue.

“I’d like to say I’m optimistic but there is a lot of politics involved. A lot of history to resolve. Unfortunately, until Manny Pacquiao changes his promotional representation, I’m not optimistic that it can happen."

Eddie Hearn has said there is a "Great chance" of a Froch-Groves rematch.

He said he's meeting up with Froch today to discuss options.

Surely the money in this fight is too much for Froch to dismiss it - it could easily sell out a stadium of 60,000 imo.

Wanted Froch to win the last one but he seems to have turned into such a cunt I'd be rooting for Groves in a rematch. Entourage full of cunts too. Anyone seen Froch's brother on Twitter?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah he's an absolute prick isnt he? Seems to spend his days baiting Groves and offering people fights. A complete cunt.

Hearn, Groves and Sky are blatantly desperate for it to happen again but Carl looks like he doesnt want anything to do with it, all while complaining Ward is a dick for not giving him the rematch he apparently "deserves".

I think he wants that one big pay day for the re-match with Ward and he'll then hang-up his gloves.

Groves certainly deserves a re-match with him, I think the outcome will be the same tbh but it was one hell of a fight the first time around.

Darren Barker has retired, not surprising after his last fight I guess.

Floyd Mayweather says he'll decide on his next opponent within the week, but that it will NOT be Manny Pacquiao.

About time. We all know it's going to be Khan.

Aye, cause Groves is a fine upstanding gentleman isn't he.

Froch was an utter knob when he was trying to engineer a fight with Calzaghe, then once he realised that wasn't happening he fought his way to world champion level and was good and respectful with everyone he met. For some reason he's got it in for Groves and isn't doing himself any favours with the trash talking before and after their fight, and I'll admit he's coming across as a ****.

But at least Froch has been a real warrior and has earned his title and defended it the hard way against the best in his division. Groves has acted like an utter cock his entire career, and hasn't achieved anything close to what Froch has yet. He's by far the bigger ****, even if he was denied his opportunity to get knocked out 30 seconds later in their first fight.

Certainly looks like one compared to Carl the hypocrite Froch and his cunt of a brother.

How has Groves acted like that all of his career?

This is the only fight he has started trash talking, and you can understand why, he wanted to rattle Froch. You could argue he did it to De Gale, but that was in retaliation to JdG mouthing off constantly and personally insulting him.

If that's what you think, is Mayweather a ****? Or do you accept that because he has "earned the right to trash talk"?

As for getting knocked out 30 seconds later? Pointless argument. None of us know what would have happened. I was there, and have seen the fight ten times since, and there is no way Groves was clinging on for dear life, he was just on the defensive, albeit in some trouble; nothing more than Froch had been on a number of occasions already in the fight.
