Great shot but if he couldn't do that to him he should have retired! A world class light welter v a hapless lightweight, even the WBC and WBA didn't want anything to do with it it stunk that badly and they'll usually sanction anything!Comment

The guy wasn't even ranked in the top 50 by any of the governing body's. Lamont Peterson fought a similar level of opponent on the same bill. It's ridiculous. I could understand if it were 10 rounders as a warm up around 2 months off of a big fight, but this to be a card itself is very odd especially as it's in a strong division with plenty of good potential opponents.
I'm a big fan of Danny Garcia, when I first saw him (The Nate Campbell fight I think) I thought he was pretty average, especially with his ****ed up dad. Even after his Khan and Morales bouts I thought the jury was still out. After he beat Morales the second time he's been excellent. He just does the simple things so well, in terms of footwork, defence and punch selection. You don't have to be Mayweather with shoulder rolls and swaying etc. He has a great chin and his hook is lethal. The shots he took against Matthysse are testament of that.
He needs a big fight again soon, his last few couple opponents have been weak. Looks like him and Peterson will meet up sooner or later, should be a good one, but obviously expect DG to win.Comment
