Agree on Jim Watt, he needs to take a look at himself.

I always imagine if you had someone who wasn't that into boxing and knew very little about it, having them watch a fight like Brook's on Sky. They're going to presume Watt is the expert, and will hang on every word he says whilst watching the fight; that will influence their thinking/judgement. He is completely wrong! This isn't the first time. He clearly goes into fights and decides after two or three rounds who he prefers and will commentate accordingly.

To think they got rid of Glenn McCrory and kept the dross like Watt.

Jim Watt ruins many a fight with his total bollocks commentary.

That said I didnt think Brook came close to winning that, boxing scores have to be looked at & made clearer to the public, its farcical how many fights are ruined by a joke score card.

Agree about the score cards, Cannelo being given the decision by the dodgy female judge against Mayweather was ridiculous and there are countless others.

The cynic in me wonders how much power and influence the likes of Arum for instance might have on results

Yeah, definitely. There's no doubt in my mind that a lot of fights are decided beforehand, should they go to the scorecards anyway, no doubt at all. It shouldnt make a blind bit of difference if you are the home fighter or not, the judges should have set criteria on which to base their scores, made easier these days by the stats which are clearly available. If it takes 5-10 mins to sort out after a fight so be it, at least it would be fair.

Number of punches thrown, number of punches landed, number of power punches thrown, number of power punches landed etc are already available, use those as well as basing it on aggression & you have a fairly foolproof way to score a fight.

my hairdresser's uncle judged the Kell Brook fight ( Dave Parris) , His explanation and never thought of it before....but with my lack of judging knowledge always thought the 3 judges were together but he said as they sit on different sides of the ring ence the different scorecards, does make sense

On holiday apparently, It's not life threatening apparently which is good. Hopefully there's no damage that could effect his boxing though.

What the ****? Just after the Moore incident. Hopefully it has no impact on his ability to fight once he's recovered because I really enjoy watching him.

World champion Kell Brook went to Tenerife on the crest of a wave having fulfilled his athletic dreams, but his career could now be in doubt after he was stabbed early on Thursday morning.

A picture is emerging of a horrific end to a night out as Brook, the IBF welterweight champion, is believed to have been stabbed three times in his left leg along with cuts to an arm after an altercation in a holiday complex next to a golf course.

On the Spanish holiday island off the coast of Morocco and the Western Sahara with his pregnant partner, Lindsey, and his young daughter, it is believed that Brook had been with his family before heading out to a street of bars. He then arrived at an apartment in the area of Golf del Sur at 6am, where he was stabbed.

Brook ran from the apartment and staggered 100 yards to another apartment complex, climbed over a wall, before attempting to get into a building by throwing a chair against a glass window. He had left a trail of blood behind him, the noise alerting security guards who had called the police, and an ambulance.

The British boxer was taken to hospital in Santa Cruz, where he was operated on. Brook's parents, Terry and Julie, and his promoter Eddie Hearn, flew to Las Canarias late on Thursday night.

Canarian Weekly, the island's local newspaper reported: "It is understood that at around 6am, he had an argument with a man in an apartment in the Las Adelfas 1 complex."

"Brook, who was stabbed, staggered out of the front entrance and on to the road. From there, he stumbled around 100 yards towards the Sunningdale Village complex."

"The blood trail was there for all to see. It seems that Brook was able to either scale or fall over a one-metre high wall and on to the patio."
"Neighbours say he threw some furniture around, maybe in an effort to stop a further attack. He used an object, thought to be a chair, to try to break the glass door of the apartment, presumably to gain entrance and raise the alarm."

"He was able to make a sizeable hole, but was unable to shatter the glass or gain entry to the apartment. But the noise startled residents and the complex reception, and security were alerted. They subsequently called police and an ambulance."

Guardia Civil cordoned off the area and forensic officers spent the whole morning [Thursday] photographing and cataloguing the scene."
"Brook was rushed to hospital, where his injuries were described as “non-life threatening”. But Canarian Weekly understands that, initially, Kel’s family were told he was in a critical condition."

"Police officers were still guarding the front and back entrance of the apartment where the attack took place."

Brook had a major operation at Candelaria Hospital in Santa Cruz, which took an hour and a half, according to his trainer Dominic Ingle. Brook was said to be stable, on the mend, and sitting up in bed in hospital.

His partner Lindsey had been unable to visit him in hospital on Thursday as police had cordoned off the apartment in Tenerife as their investigations went on all day. No arrests have been made.

Three weeks ago, Brook had won the IBF world title win from Shawn Porter in Carson, California. There were plans in place for him to fight in Sheffield on Dec 6, with a further projected blockbuster fight against Amir Khan at Wembley Stadium being negotiated for next May.

Brook was also due to be at ringside next week in Las Vegas to witness Floyd Mayweather's world title rematch against Marcos Maidana.
