He lost though. That shouldn't be forgotten. Sure we can call the score cards wild but i don't see the fact that

Smith didn't do nearly enough to win that title on Saturday night.

No way does he deserve a rematch.

The scoring was a joke, but I reckon he still lost by 3 or 4 rounds. He put up a good performance, but it was not a close enough thing to warrant calls for a rematch.

I didn't see it that way, I think it was closer than that hence a rematch.

Boxing is subjective though so a tough sport to score really.

Do not see it as being rematch worthy. If there was a controversial stoppage or it looked close enough that a split decision could have gone either way, then yes.

But it did not even look close enough to go to a split decision. Smith fought well, but he never looked like he won it.

If it was a close fight, why shouldn't he have a rematch? Boxing is all about money and this will have generated some interest. He may well have lost the fight with neutral judges and may lose again, but it's easy for a promoter to hype it up as a revenge mission.

And it is common knowledge that when you fight in some countries, you have to do more than shade it to get the victory, you have to be the stand out winner. As said earlier in the thread, a close round can easily be scored one way or the other by a judge. Sad, but true. So it is simple to see why the Sky commentary team can get on the bandwagon.

Boxing is a sport stuck in the dark ages and will continue to be so when you get daft scorecards like that, regardless of whether the right result was reached or not.

Fair enough if you think it was so close that he deserves a rematch, but I did not think he did near enough to make the result so close that a rematch should be pushed for.

I don't think that Abraham is anywhere near being a top quality supermiddleweight, but reckon if Smith blags a rematch that Abraham will stop him second time around.

For my money their performances on the night had Smith performing at the peak of his abilities whereas Abraham did not look to be doing likewise.

It is not as though Smith was robbed or was doing so well that there was any doubt as to who won the fight. Abraham was a clear winner in my eyes and whilst the scoring on the night was a joke, a rematch would be just as laughable in my opinion.

I do agree that money could play a big part in getting a rematch off the ground though, and if a rematch does come about it will be because of financial reasons rather than anything that Smith did in the ring.

Cleverly v Bellew II will be shown live and exclusive on Sky Sports Box Office

Tony Bellew will seek his revenge against Nathan Cleverly when the arch rivals clash in a hugely-anticipated rematch next month, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The pair will go head to head on 22 November in a huge night for British boxing in Bellew’s home town of Liverpool, three years after Cleverly narrowly defeated Bellew to retain his WBO light heavyweight title.

The mouth-watering contest headlines a show that boasts an undercard featuring James DeGale and undefeated heavyweight Anthony Joshua MBE.

Sky Sports Box Office viewers can also enjoy two world title fights, as Scott Quigg defends his WBA world super-bantamweight title for a fifth time against Joseph Agekbo and Jamie McDonnell defends his WBA world bantamweight title against Walberto Ramos.

Also, unbeaten Liverpool sensation Callum Smith faces former world title challenger Nikola Sjekloca in an official eliminator for the WBC super middleweight title.

Cleverly, who won the first fight between them in 2011 said: “Many people have asked me why I am going back to Liverpool to fight Tony Bellew again and the answer is simple – I don’t like him.

“He talks too much and although I’ve beaten him before in front of his home fans, I am going to KO him this time around. He will not hear the final bell, I can guarantee you that. I will deal with him all over again and become a two-weight world champion.”

Bellew said: “I have been waiting for this fight for three years and now it is here revenge is the only thing on my mind. I have seen his horrible face in my head many nights since the fight but I have not had the chance to make it right.

“This is a chapter in my life that I need to close and I will do that by ending Nathan Cleverly’s career on November 22. I am in the sport to be successful and win titles but this fight means more to me than any of that.

"This is personal, and he will not want to enter a boxing ring after I have finished with him. It’s my first headlining show on Sky Sports Box Office and that just underlines how big this fight is. I am going to make sure my performance is a destructive and memorable one.”

Adam Smith, executive producer of Sky Sports boxing said: “This fight has it all; massive rivalry, huge support for both fighters and a build-up that may even have more tension than Froch v Groves! Nothing excites the British public more than a grudge match and a rematch.

"On 22 November Liverpool’s Echo Arena will be rocking. With a fantastic undercard featuring both DeGale and Joshua, it’s sure to be a dramatic and exciting night of boxing.”

The fights confirmed for 22 November at Liverpool’s Echo Arena include:

Everyone involved in putting that ****e on PPV ought to be ashamed of themselves.

You could have Rigo vs Quigg on the undercard and i still wouldn't buy it.

What a joke. Potentially the worst PPV take up ever.

                            it's atrocious.

The last time they fought they were both undefeated and it was for a world title

A PPV based on "they dont like eachother" is absolutely comical. Both out of their depth at world level now yet headline a pay per view card? Hilarious. Dunno why people on boxing forums hold up Eddie Hearn as some sort of god who's different to the rest, he's exactly the same, a massive cunt who doesn't give a **** about the fans.

That's boxing all over. Can't stand Hearn, he sounds like John Terry, for that alone, he's a prick.
