Doesn't use the jab enough and gets over confident. He's a bit to go yet IMO but will look devastating against lesser fighters.

Overconfident ? He's Chris Eubanks son, say no more. I thought this lad was meant to be rated, and not considered to be a lesser fighter ? How about Billy Joe, is he a lesser fighter too ? that fight was very close.

Blackwell was rated prior to the fight (at least by me). Eubank is very, very effective against a come forward fighter like Blackwell. Bookies didn't think he had much of a chance. You could have got 20/1 on him to win on points.

BJS gave him fits in their first fight and i dare say Saunders would win a rematch if it were to take place in the summer.

I don't think it's fair to criticise the referee in this fight. He's easily the best British ref.

Though i dare say if Ian John Lewis were in the ring on Saturday instead of Victor Laughlan the fight would have been stopped during the ring walks.

As for Kell Brook The reign of fear now consists of Jo Jo Dan, Frankie Gavin and Kevin Bizier. From what i've seen of him i think he'd be able to mix with the best at Welterweight however he's pissing away the best years of his career fighting utter ****e.
        Very Joe Calzaghe-esque

In Brooks defence that was the mandatory fight for the IBF they need to take a look at themselves as how that bloke was the mandatory fighter for him I'll never know.

Needs to move on now and fight some decent boxers though as you're right in that he's in danger of pissing away the best years as a fighter fighting nobodies.

The fact i found the post match interviews on Channel 5 more interesting than the Kell Brook fight shows you what i think of his fights.

He definitely needs to step up and fight someone of class even if it means swerving a mandatory.

Yeah he does now, the last 3 fights have been ****e. Needs to take that risk and get in with a Garcia, Thurman, Khan or Bradley type fighter.

Khan aside he'd need to travel to the States to fight any of the other three. He was talking about a mega-fight at Bramell Lane in the summer

They'll probably get some slop like Andre Berto or Brando Rios over and talk it up to be a mega fight.

Nick Blackwell is still in intensive care but “stable” after *being placed into an induced coma suffering bleeding to the brain following his defeat by Chris Eubank Jnr in a British middleweight title fight on Saturday night.

The bout was stopped in the 10th round after the ringside doctor advised the referee, Victor Loughlin, that Blackwell was unable to see through his left eye due to swelling, yet it was clear from round eight onwards that Chris Eubank Snr was imploring his son from the corner to hit Blackwell to the body and not the head or face.

Eubank Snr declined to comment when The Daily Telegraph spoke to the former world champion. In 1991 his opponent, Michael Watson, suffered life-changing *injuries and underwent six brain operations to save his life after their world title bout at White Hart Lane.

“It seemed insane for it to go on, because only one man was going to win the fight.”

Loughlin eventually halted the action on Saturday night on the advice of the ringside doctor when Blackwell was unable to see out of his left eye due to a grotesque *haematoma above his eyebrow. *Eubank Jnr had landed power shots and uppercuts throughout the contest but Blackwell, known as “Bang Bang” and who carries a reputation for being in ring wars, bravely fought on.

Concern grew for the 25-year-old from Trowbridge when he was *taken from the ring on a stretcher shortly after oxygen was administered to him after he had collapsed in the ring, initially believed to be because of exhaustion. Blackwell was then transported to St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, where he *underwent a brain scan within an hour and was placed into a medically induced coma.

He had suffered “a small bleed” to his brain and was scanned again two hours later. A source from within Blackwell’s team reported that the boxer was “stable” and that “no brain swelling” had occurred overnight, an encouraging sign for his long-term health, according to Hamlyn.

Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board, told The Telegraph that he was “satisfied” after speaking to Board officials who were there that referee Loughlin “had acted appropriately” in what had been “a very tough title fight”.

Smith said. “He’s in intensive care, he’s in an induced coma and he is resting and being looked after by the experts,” “That is the normal procedure in these cases. They put you in a coma to get the swelling to go down. There’s no timescale. Now it’s just a matter of waiting and seeing.”

Hamlyn added: “Hopefully because Mr Blackwell did not have hypoxia in addition to the brain injury, the swelling won’t be too bad, and over the forthcoming days the pressure in his brain will normalise, they will be able to lighten the anaesthetic and, hopefully, he will emerge with very little damage. But it is very unlikely that he will box again.”

Blackwell had won the British middleweight title against John Ryder in May 2015, defending it twice before his weekend loss to Eubank Jnr. His career record stands at 19 wins, four losses and one draw from 24 professional fights.

Messages of support and prayers from across the boxing community flooded onto social media, including from world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, his trainer and uncle Peter Fury, and from Eubank and his father.

Elsewhere, Kell Brook retained his International Boxing Federation welterweight crown in his home town of Sheffield with a second-round stoppage of French-*Canadian mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier.

Promoter Eddie Hearn pledged immediately to fix the Yorkshireman up with “a big unification fight” in July.

Tyson Fury claims Anthony Joshua will lose his world title challenge against Charles Martin because he is "useless".

Fury has rubbished the unbeaten challenger, claiming he has little chance of dethroning IBF heavyweight champ Martin at The O2 next Saturday.

"I just think Joshua is useless," said the undefeated WBA super and WBO king.

"He's got no footwork, he can't box and he's got no jab so that means he's useless.

"All he's got is a big punch, which everyone who pumps iron for five years and is 6ft 6ins can punch like.

"Unless Martin walks straight into a load of shots, which I don't see him doing, then I see Martin taking him out cold and it will be goodnight Vienna.

"He's never been tested. He's only had one real fight and he almost came undone there against Dillian Whyte. Whyte had been inactive for three years, so if he can do that to him after being out of the ring for three years then what will Martin do?"

Joshua has landed his world title shot after just 15 pro fights and Fury says the 2012 Olympic champ's promoter Eddie Hearn has bought him this fight.

"He can't fight nobody then have one fight and expect to fight for a world title," said Fury.

"Joshua has not earned his way to the top, he has been bought it. That is what happened.

"It doesn't frustrate me. It's the old saying, money talks and bulls**t walks. If you've got somebody putting the money up, you're going to get a shot.

"I'm happy for him getting a world title fight so quick, just after 15 fights, but I don't think he's ready for a world title fight.

"He's got a puncher's chance against Martin because he has got a punch. But when he steps up against Martin it is good night. He's got no footwork, no jab, no boxing ability - he's just a big raw novice."

Fury would love to see Joshua prove him wrong by beating Martin because it would set up a huge unification clash against him.

"I'd love to see him win the fight," he said.

"If he wins it's a massive fight for us to have. I would love, love, love to see him win.

"Then I could toy with him like a child in the gym. But I don't think it's going to happen."

I saw the Whyte fight for the first time the other day. Joshua didn't look ready for a title fight to me.

What's the consensus view? Is it too soon for him?. Or is Martin a bit ****?

Adrien Broner has been stripped of his WBA super-lightweight title after failing to make weight ahead of Friday's fight with Ashley Theophane.

The 26-year-old American weighed in for the fight at 140.4 pounds - almost seven ounces over the limit.

Broner (31-2-KO23) was due to defend his belt against Britain's Theophane (39-6-1-KO11) at the DC Armory in Washington. The fight is still expected to go ahead, although only Theophane will be eligible to win the world title.
