Bar owner from Liverpool saying it'ss not just at the events, and that every time there is boxing on, there is loads more fights than usual in the clubs after. Guaranteed.

Promoters don't want it getting out though. obv.
It's almost like because it's been almost completely shut down at and around football, these sort of pricks head to the boxing instead. It's not the job of a steward to get in the middle of a ruck imo, many of the stewards are women and as far as I know they're there mostly for H&S, no? I wouldn't expect a steward to get in the middle a massive scrap. But these coked up apes know there's no bizzies there so they wade in with impunity.

Used to steward at the echo and we wouldn't get involved. Once we were instructed to close the doors from the outside and leave them to it until the police rocked up.

        Happens in Scotland as well.

Pissed up coke heads thinking they're big tickets. Well off putting.

In saying that went to a lot of the boxing at the Glasgow commonwealth games and it was fantastic. I think the lack of pissed up coke heads may have had something to do with it.

yup - it's just wanna be knobheads who have watched a few too many gangster films and want through themselves out a bit -

it's the same at the national - I couldn't think of anything worse than going to the grand national - pissed up dickheads wearing fake Hugo Boss shiny suits and spending £200 that they can't afford on a bottle of grey goose

after a while, the booze/coke kicks in and they come across another group doing the same and it kicks off.

          people are knobheads

Agree totally as it stands, but imo there should also be 'Stewards' at such events of the professional Doormen type imo, and not people i'll equipped to deal with violent knobs.

Yeah, that was really good. I could probably have handled another half an hour..!

Joshua is a class act, very grounded. His approach and the respect he shows really sets him apart. Interesting that he went out to train with Klitschko when he was younger to 'learn how a champ moves'. It has definitely served him well.

It was a great fight, one of the best heavyweight bouts ever, and goes to show when you remove the trash talking and bull**** that surrounds a lot of fights then Boxing can be quite spectacular.

It was a good fight but think is being a bit generous to say it was one of the best heavyweight bouts ever.

It was hardly Ali -Frazier ( 1 and 3), Holyfield-Bowe (1 and 2), Foreman-Lyle, Holmes - Norton or a good number of other top level heavyweight pairings.

Is not a knock on Joshua or Klitschko as it was an exciting fight and well contested. But I don't think it would make even a top twenty list of best heavyweight fights of all time, and maybe even lower if fights of importance rather than quality made that list ( by that I mean fights that were not as pleasing on the eye but that shook the boxing world a la Foreman-Ali or Tyson- Douglas)
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

It was just about the best heavyweight fight of the last 20 years. About as good as we can ever expect these days from the modern heavyweight division.

Nothing is ever likely to compare to those iconic fights you've mentioned, setting the bar a bit too high!

Lewis Vs Vitalli and Holyfield Vs Tyson 1 & 2 were great heavyweight fights.

But yeah, they're few and far between these days.

Even if the talent was around we would never get fights as good, as the referee would have to stop the fight due to punishment that these fighters took during the great fights.

That is a good point and in terms of the past 20 years it is up there, probably clear by some distance, both in terms of the quality of the fight and the quality of the boxers involved, but I still stand by my original point and would say that the best heavyweight fight of the past 20 years still does not rank amongst the best heavyweight fights of all time.

The only thing I was disagreeing with Buzzo on was his comment about that fight being one of the best heavyweight fights ever.

And I do agree that it is a sad reflection on the heavyweight division of the past 20 years. I can think of a number of really good heavyweight bouts during that spell, but none had a pairing that would match the quality of the boxers involved in the Joshua- Klitschko bout.

I think we all agree with you there.

He is, and for some reason I got it into my head that his fight with Vitali was a lot earlier than 2003. It easily gets in there then as one of the best heavyweight pairings/fights of the past 20 years and in terms of quality of boxers it is right up there as well.

Just finished watching that fight again, and damn did those two land some brutal hits.
