This Barrett-Clark fight is a lot of fun.

Wilder Vs Ortiz was actually a decent scrap.

Best win of Wilder's career to date, but it is a win that raises more questions than it answered.

40 fights for Wilder now, 40 wins, 7 heavyweight title defences, which all looks very good on paper but then you see the best name on his record is Ortiz and his record goes back to looking very much like a safely padded one.

Mad to think that if they can carefully match Wilder some more, then he could well go on to beat Marciano's 49-0 and Mayweather jr's 50-0 and not beat anyone of real note along the way
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

            Overrated by who?

He's extremely crude but it's effective.

His technique is awful but he’s got proper power. You’d think Joshua or a Fury would have way too much for him. Unless of course he lands that big right

He's good at boxing, he's just not a technically good boxer.

Not sure there's any argument about that.

Not sure what you're trying to argue about then?
Do you think he's underrated, overrated or correctly rated?
As Jaco says - he's 40-0 with 7 defences and the best opponent he's faced is 38 year old Ortiz who very nearly stopped him.

Maybe amongst boxing cognoscenti that might be the case.
Amongst the wider community of boxing "fans" he's very overrated - not sure how you can say any different.
I watched the fight last night with 5 lifelong friends.
2 of us boxed as amateurs and all of us have been to countless boxing matches together over the last 30 years.
2 of them believe he's a very good heavyweight and would have been a worthy contender in any era of boxing. I'd class the 2 of them as being well above average in terms of boxing knowledge. Of course the other 4 of us laughed at them.
Now what was your point again?

Wilder is very good at boxing but he's not a good boxer. Almost no one overrates him.

                          Happy?

                            Almost no one now?
Out of my small sample of 6 pretty knowledgeable boxing fans two overrated him.
You took issue with my post saying he was overrated and I've successfully defended that point.
                            Sure I'm happy now

Must admit I would love to see that Ortiz in against Joshua, and see how it goes.

Not that I would expect Ortiz to win, but his punch resistence would give an idea of how hard Joshua hits compared to Wilder.

Was very surprised at the weight Wilder came it at last night. He was under 15 and a half stone. He was in great shape physically and no doubt was done for a speed advantage over a technical good opponent, but I wonder would he risk coming in at that weight against Joshua given that Joshua would be a much more physically imposing 240lbs + boxer than Ortiz is at that weight.

I was fairly impressed with Wilder - He stood up to that barrage from Ortiz in the 7th - A lesser man would've crumpled under some of those bombs he was throwing.
