Lomachenko and Ortiz was a surprisingly very exciting, competitive and close fight. Loma fell into his rhythm in the latter rounds collecting most of them which just about justifies his UD victory. It was close though and the cards could have been closer. I wouldn't argue if you gave Ortiz a draw tbh, although I wasn't scoring, so not too sure how I'd assess a round by round breakdown. Ortiz probably a bit raw for this, needed a couple more fights under his belt but very talented and did a lot right. I thought Loma wasn't quite at his best either so it might have been the time for him to make history.
Loma and Haney will be a good fight if they can get it made.

Not often you hear a fighter desperately bigging-up his opponent ahead of a championship fight...shows you what a farce it is really.
Absolute cunt. Hilarious that the public think he's a great guy let alone a quality boxer. Hoodwinked. Each to their own I guess.

Don't entirely disagree but there are a lot of good fights and fighters that people refuse to care about. Everyone is keeping an eye on the Youtubers and a horrendous heavyweight division. A good young fighter pushed Loma on the weekend and people choose to watch a Youtuber instead. I've not heard anyone other than myself get excited about the Zepeda fight. However, I hear about Fury and Chisora on a daily basis. Not sure that is the state of boxing or the state of the public tbh.Originally posted by Bender View PostBoxing now imo is at an all time low and doesn’t help with this stupid YouTube boxers and exhibition fights to name a few things wrong with the sport

Prograis put together an extremely polished performance to KO Zepeda in the 11th. To win that well against an opponent so slick, fast and powerful says a lot about Prograis. Decent fight although Prograis was always in control. He had to navigate one or two tricky moments and eat leather a couple of times but Zepeda was on the receiving end of most of the punishment. I think the style was all wrong for Zepeda and he falls short again at the last hurdle. He's obviously got a huge amount of heart but I wonder if he'll want to come back again after this. Only he will know.
If Taylor doesn't move up. I think Prograis would love the rematch in the US. The first fight was really close and Prograis would back himself. If that's on Taylor's agenda after his fight, I'm unsure.
