Giles needs removing immediately. The only thing he can turn is my stomach.

LOL @ LFCman, you're mildly amusing when you're winning. Not quite as funny when you're getting beaten though. you were a lot quieter last Summer. Australia without Warne are an average side and not that much better than England at full strength. Warne's a class act, almost a one-off. When he quits we'll see a difference.
Anyway, my contribution to this thread today: Flintoff's left ankle is ****ed

Very bad. He can't bowl flat out, there's a question about whether he should bowl at all as he is useful as a batsman. A big injury could put paid to that.Originally posted by animal magic View Postwhy how bad is it
He's having pain killing injections at every interval. He's OK to bat, a bit dodgy on quick singles but when he bowls he's constantly in pain.

The last Test, Australia's 1st innings. He only bowled 4 overs on a crucial day. It was on his follow through he just felt it go. His left ankleOriginally posted by ShaggyAlonso View Post

Well I know that mate, I watched it too, but how do you know all this extra stuff like "he's permanently in pain when he bowls", that there's "a question about whether he should bowl at all" and all the other stuff?Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostThe last Test, Australia's 1st innings. Or is it just one big assumption?

I know one of the players (he's not playing in the Test team at the moment though) well.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostWell I know that mate, I watched it too, but how do you know all this extra stuff like "he's permanently in pain when he bowls", that there's "a question about whether he should bowl at all" and all the other stuff?

Rock solid as of yesterday evening. There was a discussion as to whether he should stick to batting only for the last 3 tests. It's pretty nailed on that if we lose the next test he won't continue bowling as there's the world cup to think about.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI hoped that wasn't going to be the case. Damn, so it's presumably rock solid info.
Jesus. We've virtually half a ****in' team playing at the moment.
Naturally he wants to bowl. Perth is usually a fast bouncy wicket so he'd be useful even if he's not 100% it's just whether his ankle will take it for 5 days.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

It's not over yet. If we win in Perth we will be in exactly the same position as we were in 2005. We would need to win 1 of the last 2 and draw one.
It'll be tough to take 20 wickets but the aussies peaked at the Gaba and we were at our worst. There was nothing in the last test except Shane warne on a 5th day pitch.
We are improving all the time, Anderson taking 3 for 40-odd, Mahmood taking 2 wickets, Monty still to come in and Read looking good.
Optimism lads
