    Wiggins' inspiration.

    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

That's right Nigey, he is his own inspiration.

There are strong rumours Cavendish is going to leave Sky at the end of the season.

I can understand that, Sky will be about getting the tour victories now with Wiggins and Froome, geting the green jersey would be a nice to have for them but not a priority.

Are you talking about anyone in particular?

Eisel will almost certainly go wherever Cavendish goes. Others will leave - people move on every year. Nordhaug is off for instance - I forget where, but maybe it's Rabobank.

Of course, other than Cav, Froome is the potential out that tantalises most.

Yes. Brailsford has apparently already said they'd let Cavendish go if he feels their priorities hinder his ambitions.

Yes. He tweeted it this morning. It must be really hot around these parts at the moment.

It might have been very warm but it's not a given just because of the time of year. I climbed Ventoux (twice actually ) in August a couple of years ago. It wasn't all that hot. Fortunately. It was pretty hot in the valley but the temperature wasn't too bad up the mountain. It really helped it wasn't windy either - that's supposed to be the killer on Ventoux.

Checked earlier and it was 37 celsius (at the top). Yeah, mistral can be a killer.
