He said "my beer will taste nicer than their beer" .....they were clearly expecting the whole team to show up, as they normally do.
Garcia said none of the players turned up

He said a handful of their wives did and most of the caddies but no players or vice captains, captain

There was definitely one with Rose as well

Both teams normally get together once the dust has settled following the final-day singles but Europe captain Jose Maria Olazabal said only a few American players had joined them at the post-match party.

"Some of the U.S. guys and wives came in but obviously they were feeling down," said the Spaniard as he cradled the Ryder Cup.

"It was a tough day for them so we have to understand that also. I was on the receiving end of a U.S. comeback a few years back (as a player at Brookline in 1999) so I know how hard it is to take."

Yeah I saw that but Garcia was interviewed on SSN and said no players turned up only wives & caddies

            Maybe he was pissed

Was this when Colsaerts 3 putted from that distance. If so it was a good call
There would've been *a bit* of pressure to secure the outright win rather than just retaining it with a tie
              the tiniest bit

No it was after Colsaerts had three putted. Then Colsaerts returned the favour and made DJ putt from point blank range.

The Europeans turned up after Brookline

I genuinely think the Americans havent done themselves any favours, their actions on and off the course havent endeared them to anybody and have completely gone against the spirit of the Ryder Cup

When people like Nicklaus are calling them out on these things you know it isnt in the spirit of the game

                      BBC:-

Europe captain Jose Maria Olazabal is holding a news conference in London after guiding his team to a 14½-13½ Ryder Cup victory over the United States at Medinah.

Jose Maria Olazabal: "I'm still riding the wave. It was an emotional week and a tough one to begin with but the outcome was wonderful and while the phone has been really hot, out of all the messages there is one that stunned me.

"The King of Spain called me and he was over the moon like me, so that was a nice one."

Jose Maria Olazabal: "Saturday afternoon was crucial. Those last two matches were crucial for the outcome of the cup. On Sunday there was a moment that was quite special. I was on the 12th tee waiting for Lee Westwood to come on to the tee and I looked at the board and all five matches had been won by Europe. I looked at the rest and there was a little gap where everything was red but we were doing OK. All square or maybe one up.

"Lee came on to the tee and asked me how I was doing - I had done my maths and thought we still had a chance of winning and I had to walk away. He realised that I was very emotional at that time and when he was stood over his ball he was thinking: 'Wow I need to win my point'."

Jose Maria Olazabal on whether he wants to be Ryder Cup captain again: "Yes in a way but I can assure that is going to be a no. First of all it's a lot of work. It takes a lot of you during the stretch of time from when you're named captain to the playing of the Ryder Cup.

"On top of that there are a lot of players that should have the opportunity to be in my spot - it's played once every two years and there are a big number of players that have the chance to be in my position, so clearly I won't do it again."

Jose Maria Olazabal on who might be Europe's next captain: "I think (Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke) deserve a chance. Thomas (Bjorn) deserves a chance and Paul Lawrie deserves a chance. Once they do it there is Lee Westwood and Padraig Harrington. There is a list of eight or nine guys that have a chance of doing it.

"It would be unfair for me to just name one and I will leave that to the PGA but all of them deserve that position."

Nicolas Colsaerts on Jose Maria Olazabal: "He's got an unbelievable size of a heart, he lived for this game all of his life and he made clear to us that this thing was going to be very special to him so everyone looked at each other and understood the importance of the cup in this man's life.

"When you look in this guy's eyes, it's pretty intense, just as much as he showed when he played."
