That said, the massive amount of cry arsing around scrums is pretty reactionary and seems to be solely based on England going out. I have slightly bought into that

Every other team takes defeat on the chin, but when England go out, you have the likes of Dalalgio claiming England lost due to Ben O'Keefe.

The moment SA took a mark and chose to scrum, then marmalised the England scrum about 4 times in a row was the reason England lost.

I’d support that. It does seem like scrums are being setup to win penalties over getting the ball out quickly… it’s a good idea

Alleged racial slur by Mbonambi against Curry. Apparently called him a white cunt. Allegation like that could cause him to miss the final.

Edinburgh won a decent game yesterday - and it was really good to see Ben Healey who won MotM. Once we get our internationals back I am really excited about the season ahead.

Wet ball doesnt specifically suit teams from the NH - it’s a nightmare for us for example. But it does suit teams… such as the two who played last night. And specifically England who have the least developed game through 9-15.

Though that game says more about the Saffers than any game where they trounced another team.

England playing and spoiling at the highest level they were currently capable of.

SA being a bit off the boil.

The weather very much suiting a home nation team and still SA ground out a win.

I wasn't confident about this game despite everyone telling me how easy it would be. Anyway, Southern Hemisphere once again and probably the best final the game can serve up.

Yeah - weather definitely came into it - pity that neither side really looked like scoring a try. Let’s hope it’s better next week for the final. .. NZ v SA on paper should be a cracker

Weather was a huge factor tonight, perfect conditions for England as it removed any sort of need to put ball through hands. But England were excellent in controlling that - I thought they might see it home. South Africa were surprisingly poor (tired) in the arm wrestle.

Bonn squad effectively won it for SA with second half scrum dominance.

I’m still not convinced England are that good - but in that sort of percentage game I’d never rule them out.

Scrum pens are so hard to call - when it’s debatable on either side it can be a disaster. Once Sinkler came on then every scrum was a pen
