Shows what a bit of tinkering and a fillip of self belief can achieve. Not a vintage 6N but the fact that England have achieved a GS is going to make them far more confident and much harder for the other 5 nations to beat next year IMO.

For signs of more substantive progress we're going to have to wait and see what happens on the summer tour though.

I think England's draw was nice - did well to win away in France though. They've been unlucky the last two seasons so were due a win. Itoje looks a beast.

Think they'd have won regardless of who was manager.

The line that England were the first host nation to exit the group stage was somewhat masking of the fact 4 of the top 9 ranked teams in the world were in it.

I think if we went back and evaluated the stats at the time of each WC then that would not be repeated.

Agree with the fact we have been a little unlucky recent years - last year was a crazy final day and we were within a meter or two of the French line to win it at the end in 2015.

The two 'easier' games to start was a good boost to get us off to a decent start and then when it came to playing the better teams at Twickers they were already playing catch up.

Some decent young players in that team so next few years will be interesting

Marler finally given a 2 game ban for his Gyspy comments in the end. They've made hard work of handing that out.
