Clearly not your strongest team but most of those were on the bench and all bar one came on. Sexton came on and missed a pen kick into the corner

Ireland: R Kearney; Earls, Henshaw, Aki, Stockdale; Carbery, Murray; McGrath, Herring, Jo Ryan, Henderson, Ja Ryan, O'Mahony, Murphy, Stander.

Replacements: Cronin for Herring (57), Healy for McGrath (48), Furlong for Jo Ryan (48), Roux for Henderson (64), Conan for O'Mahony (69), Marmion for Murray (77), Sexton for Carbery (57), Larmour for Earls (25)

Anyway, we could toss this back and forward for weeks . I agree, should be a good test on Sat and I suspect you will go in full strength. The Aussies were decent at the bnreakdown, so you have some challenges there for sure. Should be a belter

Do you have Amazon Prime Nev? There is a really good documentary series behind the scenes with the AB's on it.

I'm surprised you didn't hear me shouting at the tv for Sexton's pen way over in Scotland The team now know the challenge and full guns blazing from the start from our strongest available team will help.

Aki & Henshaw are too samey and Ringrose's ability to break the line is necessary and hopefully he gets picked.

No Amazon Prime but can usually get access to most content via another source - what's the name of it?

Yeah, Aki seems like a Jamie Roberts - nothing too subtle about his game.

That Sexton miss potentially cost you the game..!

Here is a trailer for the Doc. Called 'all or nothing'. It is pretty good, covers the Lions tour and the Bledisloe Cup.

Still not gone with our strongest side IMO but they have to blood players also. Tadhg Beirne on the bench also to make his debut:

Ireland team to face Australia: Rob Kearney; Andrew Conway, Garry Ringrose, Robbie Henshaw, Keith Earls; Jonny Sexton, Conor Murray; Cian Healy, Niall Scannell, Tadhg Furlong; James Ryan, Devin Toner; Peter O'Mahony (capt), Dan Leavy, CJ Stander.

Replacements: Rob Herring, Jack McGrath, Andrew Porter, Tadhg Beirne, Jordi Murphy, John Cooney, Joey Carbery, Jordan Larmour

It makes me smile every time Eddie Jones loses.

                  It’s a double win..!

Any other team would be under massive massive pressure and scrutiny after losing 5 in a row, will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Matt Dawson alluding to Jones having lost the dressing room.

Ya should have been more comfortable - last week was a bit rusty. Ringrose makes such a difference to the midfield as he can beat a man rather than run through him. Superb at the breakdown with O’Mahony matching Pocock.

Next week still in the balance depending on the team he picks - looks like Genia is out.

Yeah, we are touring with basically a second string and blooding loads of youngsters so I am not too concerned.

I watched it. US were very physical and conditions were draining but the younger players will learn a lot. Gavin Hastings son Adam played his full debut as did George Horne, both started well but flagged. Ten of our starting line-up had fewer than 10 caps, with seven making their first starts..

Worried about this strength of the squad taking on the Argies next week though.

Well at least you’ll find out who’s up to it or not!

I think a few guys are playing themselves out of contention. A few of the young Edinburgh players look decent and will have a shout at the World Cup.

We still should have won that game, we let the US in and then made errors crucial phases.

Conditioning in Japan is going to be crucial. I cant wait for the WC, feels like it could be a cracking tournament.

A lot can happen in a year, we are trying to build a squad also but still heavily reliant on Sexton and Murray. Depth in most areas except half back. A few buddies of mine based in Asia are going to the WC - we went to the Euros two years ago as a group but Japan to far away to sell it at home
