Really good game at Murrayfield on Saturday. We didn’t even play all that badly, France were just exceptional. They’ve really kicked on this year and the game they have been threatening is really coming to the fore now. They’ve got everything. We could be looking at All Blacks levels of dominance.
As ever with Scotland there is a story. How the **** we didn’t go in ahead at half time I’ll never know. Hogg missed a walk in failing to gather a looping pass. Duhan the same just before. We could, should have gone in 17-12 up.
It wouldn’t have made much difference but it certainly would have asked a few more questions, and I was impressed how we fought our way back in, but they took it to another level.
I’ve been going to Murrayfield with a season pass since 2017 and that is the first time we’ve been beaten like that.
And then afterwards went for dinner with the missus in Baba which is part of what used to be the old Roxburgh hotel, and one by one the Scotland team started appearing at about 6pm. I was pretty pissed but shook hands with Darcy Graham and Sione Tiopoluto and me and the missus got a pick with Zander Fagerson and by his own admission a groggy, limping Chris Harris. I just missed speaking to Finn twice. So that was cool as ****. I was properly star struck
Weirdly nobody else in the restaurant seemed to acknowledge them!
I think France are nailed on for a slam. England could maybe match them but not sure the English game plan is quite there yet. The French look super focussed. DuPont is ridiculous for a 9. Has to be the most physically impressive 9 I’ve ever seen, with the skills to match.

Ah yeah, Joost was class and not your typical 9Originally posted by Zapater View PostGreat player, although Joost was the definition of your description. Massive for a scrumhalf and he could do anything.
DuPont isn’t big in a tall way (I think he is 5’9, or 1.75m) he is absolutely ripped. Chiselled out of granite. Gets stuck into everything. He and Ntamack are so young also they are going to dominate for ages.Modifying post.

Probably the best half back combination in the world now. Or on equal at worst. If you go back a few years I called it. Jalibert is also some player.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostAh yeah, Joost was class and not your typical 9

Hard to believe them and Penaud are all 25 or under. Serious players. In the centres Fickou isn't much older either even though he's been around for years.

And at 22 and 25 how good could they get? Only injury stops them. Thats the only thing with DuPont, he gets stuck in for a 9. That will lead to injury.
The age profile, unity, fact they have the clubs onboard, size, skill and potential of this team could lead to an all-blacks like era of domination.
I think they are that good. The bottom line is they are also incredible to watch so as a supporter you have to just sit back and admire a lot of what they do. They play Rugby the way people want to see it.Modifying post.
