I made the call about Ireland probably not being as good a contender as France, NZ and SA. These games are sometimes about pedigree and it was the case here for me.
    Yeah good shout

NZ managed the game so well, particularly when down to 14.

Richie Mo'unga was great tonight, best I’ve ever seen him play.

They were lucky to get away with it against SA.

He was unplayable in the Rugby Championship game when they beat us in Ellis Park last year. I think he's quite underrated. Was always doing it in Super Rugby but is quality in the blaxk shirt too these days.

He seems to have absolutely everything to his game

Could not handle a proper brekkie roll this morning either. Very sick/sore lad today and none of it self inflicted.

My GERD reacted to my new chemo medication yesterday and watched the game in CUH last night.

Deemed safe to be transported home just after nine this morning after a night of blood thinners, morphine and H2 blockers being fed into me via injection and IV.

Propped up now like a broken bird, weak as hell, sore as hell, and my stomach feeling like I went ten rounds with a prime Mike Tyson and somehow managed to lose to him.

Was some game last night. Better team on the night won, but none of the Irish players should be doing anything other than holding their heads high.

They never gave up, fought literally to the last second and had me believing a few times that the 30 or more phases of play near the end was going to end in a match winning try.

Fair play to the All Blacks. Their defence was brilliant and they countered amazingly. But I thought Ireland, team and fans in the ground, were magnificent in the face of adversity. Just not our night and not our tournament, but we had some great moments along the way and we have the young players to add to the squad in the coming years to ensure we go again.

Hope they get a massive reception when they get back to Ireland. The level of fight and quality they have shown in the tournament deserves the sort of homecoming that gets done so well in Ireland for both rugby and the GAA.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Wait until you watch England ease past Fiji for a semi final spot to really rub it in.

Definitely a tough defeat. It was a proper test match, nothing left out there. Games like that come down to the smallest margins.

That probably makes it all feel worse I appreciate.

I thought Sexton looked gassed after about 60 mins and wonder if at any other time it might have made sense to make a change at ten.

Ya Sexton was done and taking him off was probably the right thing to do, his missed penalty really cost us as we couldn’t go for a drop goal at the end

Hard to criticize him for his 15+ years of service though

That was a big moment though Barrett missed one after also.

It was that kind of match - nip and tuck all the way. Yep amazing career from Sexton and a really tough way to bow out. But he has been incredible an inspiration for others.

I know a few people who were at the game apparently the atmosphere was incredible.

****in hell Jaco. Sending good vibes your way. Hopefully you're over this particular hump asap.

That match was crushing. I honestly thought in the last 30+ phase play that we'd break through but NZ were insane. I had thought before the match that if we lost I'd just be **** it cos it's just a bunch of rugby ****s (this comes from living in Dublin, not Munster) but they were heroic and I'm gutted for them today.
