So chuffed, most of the same guys who were written off (me included) prior to the last tournament have gone back to back. Again razor thin. I think most of these older guys should retire sooner rather than later for the new era but that's another discussion for another day. We won't win the next one but it doesn't matter, it's time to enjoy the moment.

Also, hilariously I've been abroad for both Paris wins (07 and now in Australia and New Zealand respectively), this one being particularly odd celebrating like a maniac behind enemy lines. Just got home and I've been drinking practically since I woke up this morning. Definitely trying to be respectful/magnanimous the whole time. Especially as culturally it couldn't be more different from the chaos in Johannesburg in 2019 where I don't feel like anything would have changed in NZ if they had won today. Extreme vs. placid in many ways.

SA played 78 mins without a “proper” hooker, Kwagga Smith had done great turn overs when he came on. PSDT rolled back the years with an absolutely destructive performance - 28 tackles is mad and most of them like being hit by a car!
Was saying to my friend in the first half that he was going to empty his tank for the bomb squad but was still smashing guys back in the tackle in the final minutes. Incredible.

Congrats Zap - out in front with 4 now. Looking forward to seeing the next generation in 4 years time….. preferably not in the same pool!

        Yeah Congrats Zap!

Enjoy the win - the best team won the tournament, SA fronted up to all challenges thrown at them. The win against France was so incredible to beat them at their best at their stadium was a truly remarkable performance. Then you guys just seemed to know how to get the job done, it doesn’t get harder than having to beat all of the other teams in the top 6 on your way to the trophy.

Hope the hangover is not too bad.

Ahem….. “play” as opposed to beat …… jokes aside, that was some tough run of games and they did it.

            Haha. Apologies

I am glad that a team from this side of the draw won. And I hope they manage to not **** the draw for next time.

Undoubtedly we will be crap again by then and the draw will conspire against us from the other direction.

Do it like football, make the draw 6 months before…. That’s the fairest way

                    Feck congrats to Zap.

Best team may have won but Zap is just a fat welterweight

Now if you will excuse me, I have a lemon to suck.

Thanks gents, much appreciated - the France match was definitely the pinnacle. In 2019, I'd argue despite not playing very well apart from the final that we deserved it. This time around there was a huge slice of luck involved too. We were good value but wouldn't have complained if we were edged at another point.

Hangover in the office was painful but worth it.

Just got under 80kg, I'll be ring ready in no time.

Don't forget to have your sponsor's logo on the soles of your boots. Have changed my mind on dragging out fights for the entertainment of punters in the EST tournament.

Still have enough in the tank to take EST's second best out in the first round.

Will have to be a first round KO though as it goes more rounds than that and a lung might get hacked up

Ring is going to be the smallest size possible, or inside a wardrobe. Ain't gonna be no dancing about or making me follow you

                          This is a great shout.

Be better than AUS in 2 years that’s for sure.

Edinburgh have signed Ali Price. He and Ben Healey together are a great pairing.

I’m quite excited by the team we are pulling together. Could do with stronger centres but outwith that a strong team.

Still couldn’t beat Leinster seconds tho

Big win for a second string Edinburgh against Ulster tonight.A lot of second string putting in big performances.

Interesting fact Edinburgh are not allowed to be called Edinburgh Gunners because of a law suit by Arsenal.
