Schumacher had the best car for years on end! Not only that, he had tyres designed by Bridgestone to fit his driving style.
I'd rather watch Vettel than a Schumacher procession any day.Comment

Some line up at Ferrari next season.Didn't know they had Rory Byrne working on the new car too.Should be interesting to see how that goes.

Ah, they all know him though. I'd imagine they quite missed him after they got rid of him last time.
Byrne coming back is more of an indictment of F1 than a positive. Where is the new design talent coming through? These are all old men in the top jobs, ffs. Newey was young once - nobody seems willing to take a gamble on a new designer.Comment

He's untouchable is Newey,it does seem like a panic stations move. The Ferrari tech department is getting more bloated than the Mercedes management team and yet still nobody can touch him and his notepad!Comment

Newey was in his early 30's when he designed the Mansell Williams, one of the best F1 cars ever made.

That's what they want it seems, two equal drivers both capable of wins and regular podium finishes. At least with that they can win the constructors even if the driver title eludes them.
They'll probably have the best driver line up next year but in typical recent Ferrari fashion they'll **** it up by giving them a **** car.
As for designers, I'm sure there are some great ones out there but it's such a high stakes sport nobody is willing to take a chance. Strange none of the smaller teams do though, they all use up the cast offs from the bigger teams.Last edited by G; 10-09-13, 10:23 PM.Comment
