Cannot believe I missed this game! Twenty20 game is a joke and as has been said there should have been a spare day. Well done India, they have so much strength in depth and really were the best team in this tourno by some distance IMO.

When is the next Cricket WC btw? I have lost touch with the date sof all these tournaments now I am not sure if the next one will be the Twenty20 or the main WC.

Next year is world T20 again, then the year after is the ODI WC.

I heard on the radio this morning TalkSport I think it was, the presenter was going on about 'Englands continuing search for a world title'

Correct me if I am wrong here, but did they not win the World T20 3 years ago?

I too missed it. Just followed our innings on mobile via cricinfo. Was on a 36 hour train with little to no internet. Woke up in the morning to see the result. **** me. We could have easily lost that. Glad we didn't

            Welcome to India

Yep. The train was from New Delhi to Hyderabad (27hrs, ~1,550km) and then from Hyd'bad to my home town (9hrs, ~550km).

Our trains hit a max of 90-100kmph but we have so many stops along the way that our avg speeds only touch 60kmph.

A flight from Delhi to Hyd'bad on the other hand would have taken 2 hrs. Crazy, innit?

The decision to give Bell out was one of the worst umpiring decisions I've ever seen. It was that decision that cost us the game.

That is crazy! What is the difference in cost for the ticket to fly compared with the train?

It is awesome though that the country can still seemingly be that big. Love it.

Flight. On the spot that day was about 9,000 INR.

For a 'Sleeper Class' berth/ticket (You can actually roll your bedsheets and sleep full length) on the train it was about 800 INR

                    Totally legit.

                    Edit: Sleeper Class image

Fair play, that looks bearable. I would only find the heat difficult to take. Must be some amazing views from that train journey.

Early monsoons this year. Else, I'd have booked a 3rd AC Sleeper Class for about 2,200 INR

The journey was pretty amazing and so was my trip up north to Kashmir. Negative temperatures in some parts and I got to see and touch snow. Lots of fun was had

Wow, you are so lucky. Did you go to Srinagar? My parents are originally from Kashmir (Pak side) and it is my dream to see the real beauty on the Jammu (Indian) side. Is there still trouble in those parts - I know it is out of bounds for tourists (British Government do not advise to visit).

ICC are a joke. I support India but goddamn this amateur organisation.

                              Yep. The route was Delhi-Jammu-SriNagar-Leh-Manali-Delhi.

Absolutely loved the travel from Jammu to Sri Nagar and from Sri Nagar to Leh. The beauty really is breath taking

The whole area is fully protected by Indian Army. You can see the army personnel in every town en route.

We haven't faced any problems whatsoever and right now both countries are at peace, for now.

Leh/Ladakh (part of 'Indian Kashmir' ) is a very popular tourist destination. Lots of foreigners. People take bikes to ride the mountainous landscapes. Leh is at ~10,500 ft and you can hit ~17,000 ft if you take the bikes.

                              We tried something like this
with 4 bikes but had to abandon midway as one of the bikes had a problem and we couldn't go much higher with the decreasing oxygen levels. I pussied out at I was almost out of breath at 17,000ft

Cannot recommend visiting Kashmir enough. Do it if you can. It's not as unsafe as you are saying. I've seen more foreigners than desis there at Leh!!
