The more I've thought about it the more I tend to believe he was in the dark over this. His brief was to "put the mongrel" back in the team, he's done it wonderfully as only a true mongrel can but this episode has made CA realise that's not what they want.

Are the bans for Smith etc just from representing Australia?

              No tears from Warner yet?

They're also banned from domestic cricket in Oz, though they're "encouraged" to play club cricket. They've also seperately been banned from IPL.

Do you think they'll dare do any more of their famous "sledging"?
The crowd can start singing "you're cheats and your captain cries" to the go west tune.

Cam Bancroft was due to play for Somerset this season as their overseas player but they have withdrawn the offer now. All three are eligible to play but I think it highly unlikely that any of them would accept an offer should any of the counties be daft enough to make one.

Warner can do what he likes, I don't think there's any way back from this for him.

But Smith and Bancroft need to stay in oz and play club cricket as per the suggestion if they want to be forgiven by CA. IMO.

Listening to an Aussie journalist being interviewed earlier by the sounds of it the ACB will use this as an excuse to get shot of Warner altogether

Seems they've realised what a total disruptive ****** he is in the changing room & they see him as the cause of how the Aussies are perceived

There's no doubting Warner's talent & after the death of Philip Hughes he'd started to show signs of maturing. However, the way he's behaved throughout this series coupled with his complete lack of judgement ( let's face it, he's never been the sharpest tool in the shed) leads me to the conclusion he is beyond redemption. Can't say I'll lose any sleep if he doesn't play for Australia again. Apparently, he's holding a press conference tomorrow at 11am.

Smith is too good a player not to get back in but should never be allowed near the captaincy again.

Bancroft, I guess depends on how the likes of Renshaw & Burns go. I see they've gone for Handscomb in for Smith. ****ed if I know what Glenn Maxwell has to do to get a game.
