The jury in the trial of Ben Stokes was asked to consider whether injuries allegedly caused by the cricketer during a fracas in Bristol could have been caused by his international teammate Alex Hales.

edit: I know this can be a common tactic by Barristers, usually with co defendants, if you can't prove which one did it beyond reasonable doubt, then a not guilty can often be the only correct verdict.

Hales wasn't charged though, but i'm sure he was told his mates Barrister would say this about him.

So far as Stokes, surely its best to just move past it now. He probably needs to release a carefully worded statement to satisfy the press. The sooner he plays again, the sooner he doesnt have to talk about it.
