Teams have lost from scoring over 500 here before.

    Won't happen this time like

Have to show some intent tomorrow and start scoring some runs at a decent rate.

    Dropped catches have ****ed us.

We'll be all out for 200. This team has crumbled

Anderson timid, Swann unrecognisable...we have no X-factor in our attack and we can't bat for **** anymore.

The Panasar gamble hasn't paid off then either.

Everyone said Mitchell Johnson would be neutralised but the ball to get Cook was 94.5mph ...you simply can't handle that. Our seamers offer no threat bowling at 80mph.

Peach of a delivery to get cook.

The other worry is Lyon getting more turn and bounce in his first overs than our lot in 2 days.

                game over

to be fair tho this ashes series doesn't really count does it -

the proper ashes was in the summer - and with this being on when most people are asleep its not that important...

so screw you harv - this means nothing

                    - it's going to be whitewash at this rate - we look in a bit of a mess.

in fact - it's kinda part of the point i was making...

just wondering if this current england squad have just lost the edge, after winning the last couple of series and this one coming so soon - has that bit of hunger/edge just gone

no sooner have they got over celebrating winning it here, they find themselves down under having to pick themselves up and go again

is that the right terminology btw ? ive confused myself

                      a white wash?

or is it a wash out?

or am i completley losing my mind

Funnily enough I was saying the exact same thing to a mate in the pub today.

Most of the players there won the last 2, some won the last 3. Do they still have the hunger?

On paper we have an amazing team still, but its just not clicking. You'll always have the odd failure here or there, but for out best players to fail consistently is just unreal. Somethings definitely not right.

The team is over the hill. India away was the apex and it's downhill from there.

I've already listed their ages in this thread. Swann is done. 35 years old and a succession of elbow injuries. He's done. Anderson bowling 77mph dobbers FFS. At 31 he's past his best.

We have no unpredictability or hostility in our attack and we can't get anything out of pitches that aren't made to order - i.e. away from home. We were outplayed in NZ FFS (incidentally on drop in pitches identical to Adelaide) and only rescued a 0-0 after a remarkable knock by Prior, whose form has since completely deserted him.

Trott - our mainstay - has gone. Cook's batting is all over the place. The batting line-up is full of newcomers; only 3 senior batsmen - one of whom, Cook, is in pieces.

We'll lose this Test, lose at Perth and it's all over. Suspect we'll lose 5-0. Ha!

                              - needs a complete change

i do like Joe Root and think it's important to have him coming through and i reckon this will be great experience for him - he should go on to be a good player for us...

but yeah - we've lost any zip when bowling and the batting just looks like a complete shambles.

Root, Stokes, Ballance etc are our future - or at least they look it at the moment - but we have no idea if they're going to be good enough. Root certainly will but I think we need a good few changes after this series.
