Watched the highlights and again Smith was in and set with around 100 needed and he threw away his wicket. It’s easy for me to point fingers of course but they seem like cheap wickets

Head coach Brendon McCullum says he wants to remain in charge of England but admits a decision on his future will be out of his hands.

McCullum has presided over an Ashes defeat in Australia inside three Tests, a series he previously said would "define" his team.

The New Zealander is contracted to England through to the end of the 50-over World Cup in 2027, a period that includes the next home Ashes in the same year.

"It's a pretty good gig. It's good fun," said McCullum. "You travel the world with the lads and try to play some exciting cricket and try to achieve some things."

            It's 'a good gig'?!

When you hear the head coach with that attitude no wonder the rest of the ****ers are happy to doss around
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Australia bowled out on day 1 of the Melbourne test for 152 & England are 4/52 so far.

What a joke test cricket in Australia is. 20 wickets on day 1 of a test match. Absolutely ridiculous.

Credit to the good bowling on both sides, wasn’t many stupid shots as before. The wicket looked green and had a proper zip to it

Yep the curator is being asked why it was left at 10mm length. It’ll be lucky to last 3 days.

I thought the home side dictated the pitch condition? Surely it round suit Australia’s bowlers more to have a green pitch doing a bit…..seems to that way so far

Based on yesterday it seems like everyone has been out on the lash now. By the final test they will be out there with beer bongs and flip flops.

Whats amazing is Englands ability to be unable to defend their position. As soon as their bowlers give them even a semblance of an opportunity the batsmen cannot back it up.

The mentality of the Aussies is the opposite, throughout the series players have put themselves forwards in clutch moments and delivered.

A lot of soul searching required for England.

Yeah you’re right about the home side but when 20 wickets drop in a days play you’ve got to ask why. The financial impact of matches not going the distance alone should call for review from the top.

Ben Duckett sure looks like he’s still on the lash. Heads will roll surely.

Just realising that a neater way of referring to an ‘ability to be unable to do something’ is probably better explained as an inability

Can England chase 200? 250? Got all the time they need so if cool heads prevail then even 350 shouldn't be any issue time wise... But it's England.

125 behind 5 more to get
