Ouch. They were always going to go after him but that's Kerriganesque.

I know I wanted him in the team but did you know he had the 14th best bowling average at Durham last season?

      Scored 1000 runs though.

      What a mess we are.

Stokes is about the only positive from this tour.

Broad has done alright I suppose.

Although he is a bit of a cock, I think Broad should be given the captaincy. He is one of the few players that shows desire, that looks really pissed off when it isn't going his way. He is a leader.

The only worry is that he would go all Flintoff an over bowl himself for sessions on end. Would need a strong vice captain to help him.

I don't even think the Aussies are that good. This has just been a really badly managed tour, with loads of shocking decisions and departures and way too many new caps handed out randomly in a desperate hope of turning things round. Almost every decision on the entire tour reeks of desperation, and the Aussies have built confidence from that.

You could see Broad captaining over the first ever on field scrap.

Bell I think takes things too far the other way...

Need a personality somewhere in between?

Think Broad with the captaincy will be similar to Flintoff getting it. Not the right fit. Needs a calm head.

Cook just needs to be less negative. Hopefully its something they will address.

Those two new bowlers are atrocious Where'd you pull them from??

Rankin is just a big dopey lumbering fat prick. Looks like he'd be more at home on a farm.

Rankin looks like he could be one of the Fury brothers.

He is actually from a farm in the middle of nowhere.

“By the time I was seven or eight I was helping out around the farm, feeding the animals before I went to school,” Rankin recalls.

“Then I started to drive the tractor when I was nine or ten.

“There is always something to do on the farm and I always wanted to work on it. And if I wasn’t doing that I was playing cricket in the yard with my two brothers. I loved it.

“I love cricket and want to play for as long as I can but then it will be back to the farm.”

on that note - i caught a bit of botham talking the other day - having a sly dig at the '40 coaches' in the england camp - didn't catch the full thing, but it came across like he thought there was too much going on in the dressing, too many people giving players advice and over analysising too much - sure he said something like when it's not working which it clearly isn't it's best to just get back to basics and tell each indvidual to go out with a clear head, play their own game/to their own strenghs and have some fun

First innings he looked fantastic. He went out fairly cheap but he looked composed and very very promising.

Then Johnson found his rhythm and every time the ball gets a bit of speed he goes bunny.
