As you know I would have played him last summer, but I kind of feel his boat has sailed now and it's time to move on, however, if he piles on the runs this spring then England would be foolish to ignore him.

Despite having never seen him hit a ball I'd be tempted to pick Yorkshires Alex Leese {sp?) Especially if he's in form. Pick a young talent like him and stick with them all summer.

Get the feeling that if Ballance does alright here he might get a run in the side and then the other issue is what to do with the keeper. Bairstow doesn't convince me with the gloves and especially not with the bat but he has a much better average than Buttler for example.

Yep Jimmy has been piss poor and IMO is undoubtedly past his peak. There's a fella at Somerset called Jamie Overton who's about 19 and bowls at 90mph. Think he's with the Lions. I'd be looking at him and a few others. The team needs major surgery. Anderson will probably be alright again next summer on favourable, wanky slow pitches with the overhead conditions also in his favour, but it seems obvious the way we prepare and doctor our pitches, tailoring them for Swann and Anderson, does us no favours when we go...er....anywhere else.
