Yeah England have improved a lot, but don’t seem to have the tactical intelligence of the Australians. 2 down and the whitewash is on the cards as Englands tactical approach has been proven to be flawed here - so what do they do? Continue with reckless cricket or try to reinvent themselves mid series - both ways seem high risk.

Play similar but just engage brain. Attack when the time is right. Just clubbing the ball about Twenty Twenty style is not what Test cricket is about. It's high risk and over 5 days your luck has to run out. Our bowlers are too slow and that is going to be the problem. Ultimately first test was tight. If 3 or 4 hadn't given their wickets away for free, we would have finished around the same store as Australia or maybe better. Fine margins, but there is no excuse for being stupid like Brooks was. The captain needs to kick him.
