      Amazing night.

First slam final to not feature Fed, Nadal or Djok since Safin beat Hewitt in the Australian Open in 2005.

Fantastic to see a couple of others step up, I've thought Nishikori has looked excellent all tournament.

What's that then, all 8 GS single winners being different ?

Stan, Nadal, Djokovic & Cilic for the men and the women it's Na, Sharapova, Kvitova and Williams

That can't have happened in some time, good for the sport it's not just Rafa or Djokovic for the men's game and Williams for the women's.

He's finished. Said so ever since the op. He's lost some power and fitness, not much but at this level it's all about the fine margins.

Andy Murray saved five match points before going on to beat Tommy Robredo 5-7 7-6 (11-9) 6-1 in the Shenzhen Open final in China.

The Scot was broken in the first game of the match and also at 5-5 on his way to losing the first set.

Murray was 6-2 behind in the second set tie-breaker before valiantly recovering to win it 11-9 and force a decider.

He broke a tiring Robredo three times in the third as he won his first title since winning Wimbledon last year.

                          More to follow.

He wasn't brilliant but did enough to win, hopefully can kick on for the rest of the season and make the tour finals

Russian Tennis Federation president Shamil Tarpischev has been fined $25,000 (£15,500) for referring to Serena and Venus Williams as "the Williams brothers" on a TV chat show.
Tarpischev also received a one-year ban from involvement in the women's tour.
Women's Tennis Association (WTA) chief executive Stacy Allaster said the comments were "insulting, demeaning and have absolutely no place in our sport".
But Tarpischev claimed it was a "joke" with no "malicious intent".
He added in a statement: "I didn't want to offend any athlete with my words. I regret that this joke has garnered so much attention. I don't think this incident deserves so much fuss."
Tarpischev added the Williams sisters are "outstanding athletes" who "personify strength and perseverance".
World number one Serena, 33, has won 18 Grand Slams, while 34-year-old Venus has won seven.
Oh I say his vision there was lovely
