Are they flyknits? They look rapid.

My boosts are dead now. Totally killed the grips and there is a chunk out of the side but it was a hell of a ride while they lasted
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

How much are those sneakers? Dearer or cheaper than bummin Rowan's sister (or your Mam, Dan) down the local Nazi brothel?

About £124.50 more expensive than my sister but at least she comes ready with swastika tattoo where as with the nikes you'd need to draw them on yourself with magic marker

But all the reviews say they are the ****, unlike Dan's mam who gets a hammering on trip advisor

€180 piggy. You could have 19 goes of my mam for that.

              They feel delicious though.

Well done Alex. That 25min 5k is going to be tough going though! What's the fastest you've done it so far?

29m, but that was back in the Summer.

I finished the couch to 5k last year and stopped. Basically because I had achieved what I wanted. So this time I have a harder goal because I know itll keep me going.

So you did the "Couch to 5km to Couch Again" .

I still think that's a tough goal to set, cutting a minute off that run in one go can be tough enough, but 4 is a big ask. It's nearly a minute quicker every Km. A big ask. Just keep eating away at it though every time you make a new PB be proud of yourself.

Well thats just it. I dont want to smash it down to that time by the end of Feb or something. Hoping to get there by the summer.

The shorter/faster runs are better for me I think, as I can fit them in during my day.

We will see eh. Some aim for Marathon distance, some aim for this I guess.

Im losing weight, eating better and running. Ill weigh much less when I finish this C25K than I did last year. Which has to help get the speed increased.

Good luck mate, and it's great to have a target to aim for. Losing the weight will be a huge, huge help. I'm also going to pester the **** out of you so you don't get lazy again.

                            Same again next month everyone?

                            P.S. Rowan you're obviously banned

Yep same again. It keeps me honest and makes me do them

                                Yep, I'm in for February.

Alex, register with parkrun and try and do a few timed 5km events, it does spur you on.

My 5km time is now 25:53 with frankly terrible conditions under foot, I reckon in the summer, on a good day, I can get below 25, perhaps near 24 if the god's are smiling.
