My third year of rejection was the year the scrapped the three times rule. Was gutted! Might get in through my club ballot but it's a long shot. Viennais supposed to be ace too. Amsterdam alsoOriginally posted by Carras_Shin_Pads View PostNice one,
Still waiting to hear - 6th time's a charmA lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

You could split them by a pull & push sesh- I'll star the pulls, rest are push.Originally posted by RoboKop View PostYou can do your arms & core at home- or even the pulls/chins if you get a bar or power station.Originally posted by Subby View PostYeah compound exercises. Hit multiple muscle groups on the days at the gym and the home stuff you can do plyometric/bodyweight workouts to give you a solid well built core.

Make sure you get the tekkers right at first. Compound exercises can seem to involve quite a lot of coordination at first but it's important to get the basics right. This will safeguard from injury and you'll see better results in the long term. Don't worry if some dude is lifting 3 times what you are nearby, it's probably a 50% likelihood he'll be doing it wrong anyways!
Lifting aint about showing off- you'll get best results if you train your ego to be your competition & no one else's.
Here's a quick vid about the deadlift for example. I've not watched it through fully tbh but it should serve as a starting point:
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I go to the gym right after work and I'm usually home by around 6ish after the gym. If I was to go home first then I'd be more likely NOT to get ready and head back out to the gym. Bit of a homebird tbh. If the weather is gash too than i'm not going outside for anything so hitting the gym before I go home is the way forward for me.Originally posted by paulg View PostEvery time I read this thread I am inspired to do some training. Then I get home, after work and life gets in the way.
Recently I like the idea of getting into lifting, not at competitive level, just as something different to get bigger and enjoy the results. Need to motivate myself at a more basic level first.
Maybe I should read this thread once I get home, instead of during the day!
Not only does it actually give you more energy to get through the next day but you sleep really well after a good gym session and a good sleep de-stresses you and makes you feel better too
I don't have an urge to lift competitively, I just know when I do weights I'm building a decent looking physique and stopping middle age 40 year old spread from appearing. You do get a big head when people notice you've been working out and especially when the ladies comment on your "strong looking arms"Originally posted by paulg View PostRecently I like the idea of getting into lifting, not at competitive level, just as something different to get bigger and enjoy the results.
