Thanjk you.

Just didnt know if it was all cheap and cheerful stuff. Nasty interior and that. But if you reckon it's good. That's good enough for me. I just don't know anyone that's been to one. This one is in an old club I used to go too.
Don't want frills. I've had membership to places like that and been ****ed off with it all. I never use it. Might have a look at joining tommorow. The one near me is only 2 minuite drive.
Oh right. I never usually shower at the gym anyway. I usually walk in with my bottle of water, do what I need too then leave and shower at home. Much easier. Plus there is nothing worse than an alien shower with different controls and different (wrong) temperature settings.
just in case anyone else is in the same position as me,
I have become a fat, lazy, snoring *******
thought about gym membership like I do every January, so I could spend thirty quid a month to sit in a sauna or steam room
so, decided to buy myself a bike instead
early days but already feeling the benefits, you can feel you heart and lungs getting a good work out but the real advantage for me is I can use my bike to commute to work, so my daily exercise is sorted by the time I get home at night, perhaps just as well because I get very little other night time 'exercise' these days
bike will have paid for itself in no time, saved on gym fees and will hopefully halve my fuel bill
I've also made big efforts on my diet
cut out the bacon barms and pastries together with sugar, chocolate, biscuits and white bread, draw the line of wholemeal pasta and brown rice though
down from 15.6 to 14.11 in a fortnight and aiming for around 13 stone
better dust down the old ****ty stick to fight the ladies off once again
Keep this quiet
if you carefully grind off the edges of a 50p coin you can use it as a 10p

Thought about getting a bike myself, partly to save on petrol. But I'd probably die, either by car or heart attack.
I've found something as simple as walking the dog twice a day has had me lose a good bit of weight and I feel loads better. I don't want to get slim, though, I want to get muscle so should do some bodyweight stuff, really.
Discipline is my problem, if I can put it off I will.
Good to hear so many of you guys keeping at it.
