    But that's just an average. It doesn't factor in height, current weight or how the person actually reacts to eating that little/much.

    For example, I piled on the pounds eating 2000 calories. I reduced it to about 1200 and now, I'm at 1500. Any more calories for me and the weight piles on (current exercise routine included).

    It's different from person to person.

      Did you lose any/much weight after you cut back to 1200?

        Yeah. It was varied between 2, 3 and 4 pounds a week. The first week, I lost 7 pounds, then it dropped off gradually, although weeks 3 and 4, I lost nothing and in week 5, I ended up putting on a pound, although I was reassured this happens to some people. Then it was a gradual process as mentioned.

        When enough was enough, I slowly increased my calorie intake by 50kcal a week . When I got to 1700kcal a week and continued to increase, I ended up putting on five pounds, so I tweaked it and stuck at 1500kcal ever since.

          Yes, but that makes you highly abnormal in that regard!

                          it works for me, but my limit is around 1800 a day. Pretty managable. When your eating healthy it's difficult to make 2500 anyway.

                                No, but 2500kcal is pretty normal, eating less than that generally isn't and commonly (unless you're a rare case like Pheonix seems to be) not too healthy.
