How you getting on with this pal?

Still giving the full Christmas dinner a swerve?

Got another 6 months of this torture to go, and that is only because conventional treatment isn't working. Spending £100+ a month on antifungals which are starting to do the trick, on top of probiotics etc.

I'm now officially underweight too, and there's nothing I can do except drown my foods in oil to increase my calories. I've dropped 11 pounds since I started this.

        Jesus.

So what does a typical day look like meal wise?

          Breakfast: 2 egg omelette

Lunch: Choice of meat (Slices of beef, chicken or salmon fillet) with choice of limited veg (spinach, leeks, cabbage, brussel sprouts, but all filled with tons of garlic and onion).

Dinner: Three fried eggs (walnut or olive oil) and turkey mince burgers

I take three tablespoons of coconut oil a day, which is about 300 extra calories. No caffeine of any kind (including green tea), so I'm just on water.

I have brown rice on Sundays as a treat (I can just about get away with it).

I can imagine you are sick of eggs by now, and water for that matter.

Is the idea to eventually introduce other foods/food groups back in?

Yep. It was supposed to be after three months, but progress has been hampered by the medication not working.

What I am determined to do though is eat more fresh food, including desserts. I want to bake my own cakes and make ice-cream instead of buying the junk. Also, instead of making spaghetti bolognese sauce from a jar, I want to use proper tomatoes and basil etc. I used to add flavour to chilli con carne using a mix from Asda. Now I want to use fresh ingredients all the way through.

Well I hope it gets sorted for you mate.

Must be very restrictive and boring for you at the minute.

Sounds tough, hope it works out quickly.

And whatever you do, don't use mustard of any kind to flavour your bolognese.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                    Thanks folks.

I was planning to use a tiny bit of mustard for when I can make it. You don't rate the stuff?

I've never heard of people using mustard in Bolognese. Not sure I understand how it would work well, either.

Opinion on the subject is divided. But I wouldn't, no.

Either way you're in danger of stumbling into a quagmire.

                        But it's a crazy world.

                          Madness. Madness.

What trio of meats did you use? I've done one with veal, beef and pork before. Om the nom.

That's the ticket. Plus a bit of salsiccia (not salami) and finely chopped smoked pancetta.

                            Mmm, meaty,

                              Pancetta ftw

Not tried with salsiccia though. Find that **** difficult to get hold of.

It's just Italian sausage, surely it's in loads of places, isn't it?

If not, try Continental Stores, Caledonian Road. Great prosciutto too. And Fellino etc.
