Or 6" stubby as he's known to his friends

Managed to do a 4 mile jog this morning. Awful time (9min per mile average), felt awful after, ache like hell, and it's given me a sniffle and sore throat. I'm told that it often feels like that after a lay off. Last time I ran in such cold temperatures it triggered asthma which might explain the sore throat.

I'm ****ed if I'm giving up though

Keep going man, I'm at roughly the same stage, have been back jogging for about 2 weeks and have been doing a few 5ks every 2nd/third day. Still only averaging about same pace as yourself but begin to feel it coming back. Had done a couple of 10ks in May and then nothing but golf, eating and boozing since that.
        'and boy could he play!.

Trained last night for the first time in 10 days due to having Man flu. It was lung bursting. But I am ready to train again Wednesday through to Friday

Cheers fella I was thinking about my run last night and how I would just push myself to a decent pace. Then in reality I was a wheezing mess within 5 mins asking my running partner if I could stop for air

I got my wish at the half way point and had a minute's break

I'm doing long days until Sunday now so might have to start the rowing program instead. It is my plan after all to do both exercises alongside one another. I might have to squeeze in a run Thursday otherwise guilt's going to kick in big time

Back at the gym tomorrow again, last few weeks I've not been able to get in the full Mon, Wed and Friday - 3 workouts...due to wedding etc.

I noticed the difference between the last time I went to the gym before I got married then 2 weeks later when I first went back. Holy crap but I was a good 15kgs weaker than I was before. Really noticed it and was struggling at 85KG deadlift when before I'd been hitting 100KG.

              Onwards and upwards though...
              Cheers

Since my vegas trip I have done **** all either. My plan is to hit a 8 mile walk tomorrow then footy saturday, footy training every monday from then on & at least 3 x 5 mile walks a week. Its ****ing hard when its cold & dark, all I want to do is watch films/tv & eat!

Assassin, you should rename yourself Assisstin. I shaved 60 secs off yesterday's time so managed 39:48, a whole 12 secs to spare

                      Cheers

Going to my first 5km parkrun tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it.

I've no idea about time, I'm hopeful that it might be sub-25 mins but who knows!

Don't forget to print out the ID badge or they won't let you enter 25mins is a good target, I think my runs work out to about a 27:30 for 5k.

                            Good luck!

I'd set myself the same target. 4/10 for motivation

That was only for your next "jogging" session
