I've got one more run in me for February. I'm going to head out tomorrow night to try and "quick" 4km, really push myself. That takes me over 80km for the month.

Well done Rich, great going. Maybe try a quick 5km. I did the same before I got ill and did it in 23.40. A target for you to beat?

No ill effects from my run yesterday so I'll be out Tomorrow and Friday. Should get another 17km done, so my total will be a slightly disappointing 60km this month.

I've got a nice 4km route in my head, blast into Didsbury Village and back out again. I'm going to do the parkrun on Saturday morning so I want something quick tomorrow with the aim of getting a good 5km time on Saturday morning. That's the theory anyway.

I love phrases like "blast" when referring to running. As if you we're whizzing through there at 60mph. In reality we're plodding along at an embarrassing snails pace, looking near to death, but it doesn't feel that way when you're doing it

But saying 'Im going out for a long plod' sounds no where near as good

Gone right off running again lads, haven't felt like it all these past few weeks.

Finding it difficult to get motivated, totally drained when I get home and would much rather get some ales or a bottle of wine in instead.

Same here, but I had to force myself to get out and do it.

Get motivated Slinks, I found the more I run, the more I want to run next time. If that makes sense?

Not every run is a good one, just make sure you get out regularly (unless you're injured).

This probably wont help you Slinks.

But I walk my Dog every night. So I subsituted the Dog walks for a run with the Dog instead.

So its time I would have been using with the Pooch anyway. Just now it knackers her out a little more (Spaniel with WAAYYYYYY TOOO MUCHHHH excess energy anyway)

It's a vicious circle that Slinky and I know you've had your issues with depression etc. Still it's up to you. You have to get off your arse and make things happen for yourself. Literally.

Try to get into a rhythm with it and you'll probably find you get your old mojo back and other parts of your life start to kick into life too.

Maybe try and lay off the booze for a while?

                              Cheers lads.

I'm just knackered you know, feel completely drained. I work in a call centre and although I'm sitting down all day the job itself is mentally draining. I feel totally worn out when I get home, as well as that I am always starving so don't have the energy to go running.

I always tell myself I'll give it a couple of hours, give my body time to digest my dinner and then I'll be raring to go but if anything I feel worse.

Struggling to even concentrate on reading a book right now. I can feel the weight coming on my stomach now more than it ever has and because of the way I feel it's making me not want to get out and exercise.

Sorry to sound like a downer lads.

No offence but they all sound like excuses you're making to yourself. None of that should really be enough to stop you. Sat on your arse all day in a call centre is draining? Really? Hungry? Take some more food into work.

                                Time to man up.
