Any Asics GEL running shoe would really help

    Comment

Basically running shoes. Tried it in walking shoes and the stiffness gives you really sore feet.

You also need a decent amount of support / cushioning, and tie them up snug or the movement will cause blisters.

I found I felt it more in thighs than calves, but your body soon gets used to it. When I run / go for a bike ride my thighs hurt, but walking they quickly recover after.

I lost track at Christmas, 5 weeks of hols with my dad over popped on 7kg and haven't got rid of it yet. It's harder to motivate the diet side when you don't feel unhealthy. Lol.

And yeah, just walking normal, but fast. I just keep pushing until my heart rates over 140 and sit there. 205k's in 11 days puts me to shame but. That's some serious distance.

Rolled back your fasting blood sugars / HbA1c levels I'm assuming?

Yeah, all back to normal now, I was extremely lucky they caught it early, before I could do real damage. And due to fortunate timing the health service over here had started a preventative program and sent me off to a dietitian.

"****, if I have diabetes I won't be able to drink" was a great motivator. Lol.

Just managed 6.72 km in just under 50 minutes. Slowly speeding up. I find the walking bits between running are a lot slower than my normal walking which slows it down a bit but will get there, just need my knees.to get used to it and stop protesting. Lol.

I need to invest in some decent trainers tbh. I have been walking in Vans shoes. This week I changed from those I used the first week. Same model same size but this weeks shoes are just a little wider. Result, one little toe that looks like it has been raped by a rabid badger.

            Managed another 20.3k yesterday

I've been using a personal trainer on a 12 week online programme tailored to me. I'm into my 5th week now. Have had to complete change my diet and eating habits and I'm doing gym work five days a week, mainly cardio at the moment with some fully body high intensity stuff mixed in.

Was 13st 4lbs when I started and I'm now 11st 12.5. I'm absolutely made up tbh as I was getting an horrendous fat beer gut and I looked a total ****ing mess.

Good effort Slinks. Any solid tips? I'm not so much bothered about my weight but use it as an easy identifiable measure... I'm essentially on Operation Close Top Button!

I want to be able to fasten my top button on a shirt (15.5in) for the Christmas party. Wore a tie with top button open last year and felt dirty for it!

                        Great work slinks

Habits the hardest bit anyway, breaking the junk food habit and forming the excercise one. You're through that part

Amazing how much difference it makes, even slouching on the couch like a slob is better when you don't have fat on fat contact. Lol.

That is bascially like walking coast to coast in the UK. Impressive work
