I think he'll have stood down before India and I think he'll be dropped from the starting lineup. In the last 12 months he's averaging not much more than 20. He needs a break from the international scene.

The Moeen experiment didn't really work. Partly that is Moeens fault for not being quite good enough, but also blame falls on Cooks shoulders for never tossing him the ball. It's not as even he was bowling badly, he had a couple of wickets and had bowled some absolute rippers but Captain Conservative didn't want to risk throwing him the ball in case he went for runs and so he plodded on with a seam attack that was bowling hopelessly. Headingly... seam bowling.... must only use seam bowlers.... I AM A ROBOT... Jimmy and Broady must have at least 6 overs each at the start of the innings regardless of how they are bowling...... I AM A ROBOT.....

I got sidetracked there... but yeah... back to Moeen, he didn't bowl enough and his batting wasn't good enough. It's a big conundrum. Stokes obviously has to come back into the side. So do you say **** it, nobody is good enough so lets just go with a 5 man pace attack? Or do you drop replace Ali with Stokes at number 6 and then drop one of Jordy or Plunky for a Scotty Borthwicky? Tough call because I don't want a 5 man pace attack and I don't want to drop Plunky or Jordy, but I also want Stokesy to play.

Cook is clearly a good opener, in fact a very good one he's just not someone that should be captaining the side, not up to it.
