Is this a case of us being a little clueless, or the pitch playing really well.

104-1, with little sign of any needle or wicket from our lads.

I think it's a very good batting pitch but we do seem a little toothless, losing this toss is going to make this very tough to win IMO

          Anderson again, 106-2

It's a batting paradise. Sick of this. It's meant to be a proper contest between bat and ball but this just isn't. As usual.

Getting Kohli early is a right touch.

Amazing tbh. Thought they'd be about 400-3.

The pitches here are a joke. Are they trying to kill off test matches?

After stumps today they were trying to make it out it was an accident, a mistake. As if. The groundsman apparently "admitted he made a mistake in not having more grass on the top". Get to **** you bull****ters. They're all like this, all the time. It's part of the plan. Money isn't it - they want each Test to go five days. **** off.

Yeah but judging by the crowd turnout at headingly its a risky business. I think part of the problem is, players aren't as good defensively as they used to be, due in no small part to 20/20, they don't have the patience and thus if you get a greener pitch, you are in danger of having a game over within two days. So make it flat and try and eek it out to 5 days. Shame, used to love test cricket. But then there was a time I watched snooker.

It's a blessing not watching it on the TV tbh. Even the dullest of days makes for an enjoyable listen on TMS.

Most saying Cook did well today, and I think I agree. The wickets I caught were almost certainly down to field placement and bowling his boring plans.

Having said that I can see this slipping and them getting 400-4 by mid afternoon tomorrow.

Whilst Moeen Ali's figures look bad today it's worth noting that the last time England played India at Trent Bridge, in 2011, Graeme Swann took 0-76 off 12, and 0-21 off 3.
