The only candidate anyone seems to think was potentially available and really a step up was Kirsten and he ruled himself out early on. It is a little sad but I don't see anyone more knowledgeable than me coming up with any candidates that really seem exciting.

It's not really thinking outside the box though, is it. Giving it to the bloke who had it 5 years ago doesn't strike me as an inspirational appointment.Originally posted by dww View PostThe only candidate anyone seems to think was potentially available and really a step up was Kirsten and he ruled himself out early on. I don't think KP was the only senior player who didn't think much of him last time around, but this time he's got a team of youngsters so hopefully he'll be doing more coaching than managing. He's supposed to be a good coach and so maybe that'll work in his favour.
Whatever, it's happened now so let's see what happens. I don't think he'll be given much time by the press or the fans due to his modest record last time he had the job.

Pietersen although clearly the best batsman in England. Keeps making me think they made the correct decision. Why does he need to comment on this sort of stuff while he is still playing? Why cant he keep his council?
I dont agree with why they sacked him, but it kind of makes them seem like they had a point.*Except Michael, who died.

I actually think we'll do okay - Sri Lanka and India don't travel well, and we have some prospects in great form. Ballance, Robson, Jordan and a few others. Surely Ballance, Robson and Finn will come into the side.
Something like:
Cook
Robson
Bell
Root
Ballance
Stokes
Buttler/Prior
Broad
A Spinner
Finn
AndersonThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
