I thought Cook had more to do with KP coming back into the side than out of it.
Harsh to tar him with that brush too.
Hes a boring, conservative, posh idiot. Who doesnt have the reactive skills to be England captain though.
A plan is only a good plan if you can react to situations, which I dont see that he has ever done. Doesnt seem to have a feeling for the game.*Except Michael, who died.

The same Cook that lauded the "brave" decision to axe him, I'd suggest he had plenty to do with being axed from the England set up.
He's a dreadful captain with as you say no feel to how to react to situations, I imagine there's a captains handbook to refer to for situations he abides by religiously

I used to love Cook. Think he is a massive bellend now. I predict he won't be captain in 12 months time.
I can't stand when people don't make themselves accountable. Cook has escaped from the Ashes unscathed, blaming pretty much everyone else.
In interview he comes across as a dick. He does not have what it takes to be a great captain.Modifying post.

He's a "yes" man for me and the perfect captain for what the ECB want, how he seems to be blameless for the Ashes and the fall out afterwards is mind boggling tbh especially I'm cricket where the captain does hold a huge amount of influence on what goes on in a match both on and off the pitch.
He's a great batsman still but as for the rest of it not keen at all

Think he does need some of the blame for the Ashes. But a lot of things seemed out of his control.
His number 1 spin bowler downed tools and went home half way through. His number 1 batsmen had what I assume was a nervous breakdown and went home.
That coupled with everyone being **** scared of Mitchell Johnson seemed to spell disaster.
Cook should have been able to manage the players better. But him and Flower seemed to preoccupied with keeping their own positions.
Not playing Finn was mad, everyone was saying it all winter. Broad was the only one who was any good, and thats because the crowds got his back up. He was the only one who looked like he knew how to fight.*Except Michael, who died.
