Another European Cup win.

To me it seems the Americans antics at brookline in 1999 galvanized the European team and its been pure dominance ever since.

Faldo being captain was the reason we lost that one. The guy is out for himself and not the team. He left Garcia out of the Saturday afternoon and we paid the price.

Brookline was my first Ryder cup and the antics of the Americans on the final day has stuck with me and no doubt alot of people too. Makes our dominance of it ever since the more satisfying.

The fact that alot of the previous European captains are still part of the setup as vice captains and Faldo isn't says it all.

Faldo did an awful job as captain.

That he was, I remember thinking he was a bad choice of captain and in true Faldo style it was all about him.

One of the biggest reasons we've had such success is the unity in the team and he just isn't that sort of guy.

I'd love to see big Darren Clarke given a go as captain

Yeah just saw some of it. Let rip didn't he? Going on about Paul Azinger and ripping into Watson. IMO the Paul Azinger effect is overstated as Faldo was completely useless as a captain.

I feel sorry for Watson as he's a top man and was the last Us captain to win on European oil in 1993. There seems to be a lot of back stabbers in that US team.

That's part of their problem, they can't get the togetherness that the Europeans have when some of them don't get on or don't like how things are done. He's pissed off he wasn't played yesterday too.

Generational gap between those guys and Watson, too. His status in the game must make it difficult to have much of a bond, and he also made some terrible decisions with Mickelson & Bradley and Spieth & Reed which clearly pissed them all off. Watson has been their Faldo.
